Xiba Non-Gameplay Discussion Thread

Xianghua.. was a two timer? :(
Atleast, i'm hoping that she and Kilik hit it off, but then Kilik tragically disappeared saving her, leaving her to start a new life.

I love his quotes, but I wish he had some more. Hearing the same thing said to Leixia (and vice versa) back gets a bit tiring but nevertheless I never tire of "SO IF I BEAT YOU, YOU'll GIVE ME SOME FOOD?"
 
Can someone think of a valid reason for Bamco to not provide the info about Xiba's family to the English speaking players? This stuff was on every other website but English and didn't appear in the English "artbook." I can't help but wonder why they did it, since the Story Mode in this game is based only on Pat and Pyrrha. If anything, it would only amount to his popularity, seeing so many people hated him for being a "random Kilik replacement."
 
I don't understand why it wouldn't be on the English site either if he is indeed the son of Xianghua and Kilik. I was just looking at the Soul Calibur Wiki today, and on all three of their profiles, it mentions how they are related ("estranged") on the side panel, but when looking in the "relationships" section, there is no mentioning of them having children or Xiba being their child. Yet, a Wiki allows anyone to edit anything on the site, though usually the moderators on that site are on constantly and immediately edit anything they don't like/think should be there. If it is true, I still don't understand why it wouldn't be stated in his profile for English sites or in the artbook. Or, people just assume since he resembles Kilik and because Xianghua and Kilik were once lovers, they should automatically have a kid.
I'm not against the idea, and it wouldn't devastate me or piss me off if it were to be true, I just don't see why people are confirming it as though it is fact even though the game says nothing about it. That being said, it can't exactly be denied either. I'm also just wondering when exactly his conception would have taken place. Immediately after the events of SCIV?
 
This fact was explicitly stated on all of the non-English websites for SC5 before the game was released. His family ties were something along the lines of "His mother is Xianghua and his estranged father is Kilik." We then assumed that this was a translation error or something so spoilery that they didn't include it on the English website, thus we never added this fact on the Wiki as more than a mere rumour. However, while the game doesn't explain anything about Xiba's family, there's information in the Official Japanese Artbook that Xianghua had Kilik's son whom she visits once a year and Kong Xiuqiang is taking care of him. This is the same information as in the non-English profiles Xiba had before they were replaced with the shorter story that doesn't tell us anything about him. Therefore, at least for me, this makes it pretty clear that he is indeed Kilik's and Xianghua's son.

Kilik never struck me as the fatherly or romantic type. He was always about his spirituality so I can only guess that Xianghua left him (Xiba) in the care of another because she realized that Kilik would not be a father that would stick (haha) around. I wonder if Xiba will mature a bit in the sequel. I have to admit that his carefree attitude annoyed me at first but he is beginning to grow on me.

But that dosen't explane why Xianghua left him. I guess its to tie in with her daughter finding Kilik's neck less and all that jazz but man nether one of them seem to be that great of parents. Though I have always been a Kilik player and love his character I don't like they way they made him act in this game. I don't mind him being a mimic character though.
 
LOL I just drum that up to bad story telling, hell this game HAS NO ENDINGS! I do mind him being a weapon master, I would have rather he had been killed off than just be a copy of a copy character. Oh Namco why did you skimp on the endings?
 
I think it would of been better for Kilik/EdgeMaster/That other chick to just be one character and 3 outfits. I don't mind because I always though he would become an edgemaster I just don't agree with there being 3 mimic characters.
