Natsu Videos Thread

Edit: I know embedding a video attaches an unavoidable advertisement that helps 8wayrun, but seriously. Is there no way to have it stop playing on every video after I've watched it once?

Any Pyrrha/OPyrrha that mashes that much is gonna eat counter hits for free, and thats how Natsu gets damage. I think that sort of Pyrrha/OP is easier to handle than ones that sit there and block a lot. You just have to take advantage of the counterhits.
Also, a lot of moves she just "tosses" out are pretty unsafe. 236B, 236AA, 22B are all punishable. Granted, she's still a strong character, but she's in no way an auto-win for a natsu.
 
@Boogieman (vs ROTHION)

The only thing that really jumped out at me was the fact that you managed to get him with 2A+B a few times, but then didn't follow up with any free moves after that (save for a few caltrops or AA spam). That's free damage, man. If you just couldn't execute in time, or didn't expect them to hit, that's cool, but if you just don't have a go-to for after it hits, you need to have one.

Because it gives me lots of time to react and then execute, I normally go with a timed A+B -> 2A (this is, of course, when you don't have a CE ready to go, in which case, we all know what to do, and you demonstrated).
 
In the process of getting together all the videos from the past couple of days with SwordofDios (like 10+ matches) , FrizFoz , & Wyrmwrath casuals. Here is the first one of three with SwordofDios, which , I believe to be one of the best Patroklos online. period. more to come.

 
If SwordofDios plays SC anything like he plays Tekken he's trash. I'm just sayin...
I'm not going to watch the match and here is my assumption... Lots of throws, lots of unsafe mid launchers(or KD moves that give good followup,) and slower end sweeps that you SHOULD be blocking.
 
@Boogieman: I'm just going to say one thing, and it has to do with your combos. Simply put, you're not getting the most of your possible damage. 2A+B, B+K, B+G for example does less damage than following 2A+B with A+B, FC A+B, (finisher). In the first round of the first match, you might've finished him with Natsu's best combo out of 2A+B. Instead he had enough life to come back and almost beat you.
 
@ Afrofrog thank you. Yes in a lot of my videos I'm not always finishing combos. Sometimes , it is just me not thinking or times it is me thinking I wouldn't connect with the previous move. Either way thanks for noticing/the advice.
 
Galen hit the nail on the head about SoD... nothing "top notch" about that Patroklos. Entertaining matches though...
 
I'm going to apologize up front on this. I'm sorry.

But to both Galen/Awestruck , I say put your money where your mouth is. Setup some casuals with SwordofDios and upload the results. From every Patroklos player I have played "online" thus far. Him and DrakeAIdian are the only Pat players worth mentioning. Just cause you do not favor his style of play doesn't mean he isn't solid, which he is. I don't mean any disrespect to any of you gentlemen and/or ladies but play him a first to 10 in casuals and let us see how you fair. I didn't say this goon was the best in the world which in returned warranted you bashing the guy cause of "how" he plays.

And not to be a dick but no need in responding to what i just said unless you are putting a video link to what was requested.
 
I'm going to go ahead and say I haven't played SC since II. The most I've played 5 was for about 10 minutes to see if 6:A and PO 6:A were going to be a problem. I didn't even watch the matches and I just made an assumption. Yeah, he'll trash me. I understand that, but you missed what I said. I didn't say he was trash at this game. Although I did say he was trash at Tekken. I just made an assumption about how he plays based on how he plays Tekken. Don't jump down my throat for something that Awestruck said.
 
This is a disgustingly one-sided win on my part, and I wouldn't normally bother to upload a video of me beating up on some random dude, but I wanted to show you guys a mix I nailed in round two.

Normally, my PO moves consist of PO B or PO 2B+K, and then I throw in PO A+B a little while later their mind short circuits. To give myself more options, I've started implementing a new move that you can see at 0:40-0:46. Not fool proof, by any means, but if you kept it to once a match, I think it could be a good mixup to have in your game.

 
boogieman, start punishing 3b, 236aa, WR a+b , RANDOM CE , and start whiff punishing and his pat will no longer be top notch..... i play the best pat in Ga and i know what im talking about. he is starting to get the right idea with 1k but he isnt using it correctly and he is also not using pats other key tools. with that said, this is week three so unless you have been playing an OG who knows what they are doing, i can see why this guy would give trouble.

EDIT: night pyrhe , glad to see someone start using PO BE shenanigans. and under used tool imo..... but dont let this online match decieve you... most of the things you did were punishable on block and good players are gonna make them hurt...
 
Since the last videos I've spent a lot of time in practice mode trying to get rid of bad habits and working on the execution. Unfortunately tonight, as I was online, the internet lag was so unbearable I could hardly get quality matches, save for one. But it's too one-sided -_- I'll try to find better matches if my internet ever gets better.
 
Night-Phyre is 100% correct. Natsu has so many gimmicks that it kind of gets to the point where her gimmicks become legit to use. The opponent keeps staying on the ground and avoiding your 2A+B? Then poison dart them. They stay on the ground after you 4A+B them on the ground? Try a po8B (otg hit) into poison dart into another 4A+B. Stuff like PO B another PO B iWSK is dumb but catches so many people. And yeah if they keep trying to hit you out of whatever on block -> PO, then PO BE into POK is awesome. Especially if you've already lost one round and have 2 bars or 1 and a half or so. If you lose, you get the meter back anyways.

TLDR - Some of her gimmicks are so gimmicky that they become legit.

Every single Seigfried I see goes into "low throw reverse ringout mode" every time they get their back to the edge. I've just started mashing B with my guard whenever I'm blocking in that position. But then they rage quit after I break it 5 times. (I know about the slight damage to broken throws, but these guys are (usually) trash anyway).

I honestly and whole-heatedly do not think this guy is THAT great. I'm not totally knocking him though. Obviously, he knows what he is doing but this is just stupid and this is pretty much how every last Pyrrha/Omega player plays... SPAM CITY. in the beginning of this game everyone was quick to jump on Natsu claiming she needed a NERF which I do agree she still needs a damage nerf on her air throw but that's about it but I'm really starting to think this character(s) need a slight speed nerf.

I ran across moneymuffins on ranked over the weekend, and he played vanilla pyrrha the same way, but a little smarter with guarding when at disadvantage.
 
as nana said, spammy omega/pyrrha not an issue. smart spacing, BB, stab punish everything, end of the round B+K//auto GI players are much harder to deal with.

boogie, afrofrog didnt say anything about your dropped combos, he was saying you need to do A+B, FC A+B, finisher instead of airthrows to maximize your damage.

anyone notice that 9A is high instead of mid like the guide and training mode seem to indicate?

as a pyrrha player this is definitely what you have to be thinking about, imo pyrrha is one of the few chars natsu really has to respect her options. also dont get step happy on pyrrha..... she butchers step.

and yea there are ALOT of typos in the book like this...
 
These were against 70%+ win ratio people online, even though I won, did you see any better options I could've done?
