SoulCalibur V is one of the worst SC games in terms of content and replayability.

I think you just named the thread poorly, I agree that offline could get dull without friends to play with but I think that is the same with any fighting game.

No way, create a character is the only time I'm willing to spend on any fighting game outside of multiplayer. That will last for way longer than any shitty story mode would have.

FFS, HRD fuck off! You big-headed asshole. I can play online but my sister downloads a lot.

The single-player is crap and you can't deny it, you delusional fool.

Thats what I love about you. You cant have an intelligent conversation. The moment someone disagrees with you, your immediate reaction is "FUCK OFF".

You can be all about dressing up ur little characters with pretty outfits. Ima go call a couple of buddies to come over to my house to play some calibur.

Ever thought of trying to get your friends into calibur? I reckon not....cause I dont think your that smart!!

HRD

Additionally. You could tell your sister to pause her download for maybe one hour a day or something -_- I mean I highly doubt she is CONSTANTLY downloading stuff. Nor that it's impossible to pause a torrent for an hour or two.

Soul Calibur is quite easy to get in to on a basic level, so you should really try to get people into it.

LEAVE ME ALONE.

You insulted me first. You are the one who isn't intelligent. Look at your grammar.

You wear a helmet and carry a drool cup around with you. Your momma dresses you funny. You have a penis for a head.

There, now I insulted you!

You make a thread on a public forum. I have every right to respond to it how I see fit. You dont like it? Quit making threads. Its that simple!

Wow, how mature...

Nice grammar by the way. Stop bothering me.

The OP is sort of correct but I should point out Tekken 6 suffered the exact same problem.

Complete Scenario Campaign, nothing to do.

Namco seems bad about this. Even Soul Calibur IV was lacking in good replayability (though it seems to be the best of these three).

You don't have to be an ass about it though. Even if someone is making a ridiculous statement...

I love your hypocritical statement you just made. Its kinda like when someone says "With all due respect....." or "Nothing against your mom but......"

Beat it

I don't understand what exactly you guys want from the game. Even if you have an absurdly long story mode like T6, or alternate endings like SC3, (which you said was good for replay) once you complete those, what is there to do? Would you replay a game to see the same cutscene/ending over and over? It's a fighting game. Take the characters and make them fight each other. What else is there to really do? And if you don't have friends/online to play against real people, I have to think that maybe fighting games aren't the best genre for you to get into. May I suggest Minecraft?

I'm not trying to be a smartass, I really don't understand how, apart from online or offline multiplayer, any fighting game has any replay value.

Fighting games have pretty good replay-ability, you know what with tournaments going on and the whole being able to play anyone in the world at anytime thing. I play SC pretty often so that counts as replaying it and content? doesn't the game have a crap load of things for customizing those stupid CAS? The game has content just not the content YOU want.

Namco USED to be good at single player stuff.

Mission Battle, Weapon Master, Chronicles of the Sword (if you like that), Tekken Force, Devil Within, Dojo (for the PSP version of T:DR).

It's just as of late they've really crapped out on the good single player stuff. Thankfully, I've also become a more serious player in recent years so this isn't AS important (though I've also made an effort to really explore the entirety of a fighting game's offering, just so I stay grounded and not too wrapped up in only the mechanics).

Another "complaining" thread, even though the OP does bring some valid points.

Whether people think multiplayer is important or not, the true heart of the Soul Calibur, as far as modes are concerned, has to be Edge Master Mode. It does bring a challenge (SB-SC3's), while adding some longevity (SC2's), and an even more extended story mode for every character (SC3).

Museum, could have been the simplest to include, and with the storyline so far apart from the previous, this would have been the perfect opportunity to include this. Those who actually "like" the characters instead of only the moveset can be more familiar with these characters, and their backgrounds, as well as some whereabouts of those from previous games.

I've said this statement quite a few times, and I will stay it again: The reason why SE-SCII were so successful in the overall package of the game was for many reasons:

-Arcade releases, first, so they can focus more on the gameplay first, and then add everything else for console releases. SC3 wasn't as successful because it was released in consoles first, before Arcade. To a certain extent, this was why SCIV wasn't so successful in quality, but more successful in the gameplay.

-No online. which I feel can bring many fighting games down in content if they release it straight to consoles. I bet trying to develop the best online experience possible for players takes some time.

Thats too bad. It's not gonna happen.
And do explain if story mode counts so much, why did Tekken 6 get such poor reviews?

late 70s, through 80s in the scoring system is NOT poor. Most of the criticism was based on online play, which was fixed. Scenario Campaign was mainly criticized on the gameplay itself, not the story.

Well, Tower of Lost Souls in SC IV was good.
But in all honesty, some people here contradict themselves. They say, even if the story mode was bad, if it was longer I wouldn't have a problem, yet to Tekken 6 they hate it.

Oh and didn't the OP say his friends like Tekken better anyways? Now all of a sudden you are talking about how the story was crap?

Sigh why am I even doing this, I must be bored since I know you are starting threads like this just to cause drama.
@jtdam09: that isn't what I mean, lots of fans complained that the story mode for Tekken 6 was terrible and that the game should just go back to focusing only on individual stories like the previous games, even though Tekken 6 had an arcade mode with endings. (although short)
