Cervantes SCV Patch Wishlist Thread

A) It's the principle of the thing. Granted I'd be rocking the M.Bison Cervy anyway (if I even play him, no guarantees there I'm picking the highest tiered non-loli in this game fo sho) but you'd always know in the back of your mind that under the badass custom costume, he's really a fuckin fruitcake.
Honestly I think he looks way better than his 1P looks in SC3 & SC4; at least in SC4 under that golden armour of his, he comes as close to looking good as he is in SC5.

Only turn-off is that he looks beefy which is why I think in SC2 he looks the best.
 
With all the stuff from SCR, I think Cervantes still needs some changes.

-DC A: can catch step, but can be ducked on reaction especially with the GB flash, giving it away. I think it should either be faster or cancelable.
-11B: it should be have its AT properties on grounded again. Its speed makes rather useful for both a low and in combos.
-4A+B should have GB again. Just to have another non BE GB.

Just some additional thought on what I saw.
 
i like alot of what i see from cervy right now besides that it looks like he can no longer combo into 4KK which means his wall game will not be nearly as accessable. Does anyone know the best followup to iGDR
 
I hope Hates will post a resumee...Cervys old 11B looks so good as a whiff punisher, now with buffed step. So much Damage...pushback, forces Crouch. Looks like its a super tool to step afterwards, backdash etc...

Also his new double slash 2A+B/WS A combination looks so fast...lets see how unsafe he is.
 
Teaser: iGDR optimal combo I found was iGDR, iGDR (the second 214:B actually gives you iTS, wackily), then 3B as your opponent lands. There might be better tweaks--scratch that, there are probably better tweaks--but that gives you like 80-90 damage in itself.

Oh, and 3B->gun->iGDR is 75. Beastmode.

2A+B is at least A, A unsafe. Its a really strong move anyway. I feel he's becoming a very strong reverse yomi character with his great defence and counter hit specific combos. His whiff punishers are crazy and high damage, that makes zoning very worthwhile for Cervy.
 
At the same time, his rushdown seems incredibly strong once your opponent opens up simply due to the damage and pressure available off of things like 33B, throws, etc. If people get step-happy, you can check them with 33A or 3A and really only risk AA punishment in most cases, which is a bargain in terms of risk/reward. I feel like there's really no way to avoid risk in SCV, so I'm a lot more comfortable just trusting my reads and throwing out mildly unsafe moves.
 
Cant wait to test Combos for Cervantes...

But you guys probably are going to get the game a few days before i do (EU release is 3.Feb)...so please dont do too much work before i got the game. So much stuff i want to test...
 
im really curious about his 1A:B and if it'll be useful or if it'll have the same ground pickup thing it did in sc4. Also i wonder if for the iGDR combo if you could do CE instead of the 3B since his CE kinda hits grounded. So many things i want to test why can't it just be the 31st already.
 
I'm seeing so many possibilities off of iGDR alone. I probably should start practicing iGDR again. BTW, Hates, on the stream, I saw you do 66B on a back turned opponent and it wall-splatted! Was it possible before? I honestly can't remember. (Nor am I near any version of SC)

Wasn't possible before. Now 66B and also back throws will wallsplat. It's pretty awesome.

Doesn't pick up, from what I can tell. Here's the skinny on it: it's really fast and NC. Disadvantaged on hit & keeps 'em standing, but moves your opponent back so you can get movement advantages. The JF exists only on CH, and it involves Cervantes shooting his downed opponent. Possibly grants followups.
 
So basically I've updated the thread by adding the word patch to it.
