Horror Movies

I really want to get a PS2, if only to play Okami without having to deal with stupid motion controls.

Any who, they're making another Silent Hill film? I like Silent Hill 2, the game, not the rest of the games. Silent Hill: The Movie, thought it would be better

Actually I searched it up, and came up with nothing Silent Hill 2: The Movie. The closest I could find as a sequel to the movie is Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, which will be out this year...

yeah man! I've been all over that movie. It's coming out this year. it's being made by some of the same people as RE: Afterlife (the best RE movie imo besides the first one) and was to be filmed right after Afterlife was done. It was mainly being filmed in Torronto, Canada and I even got to see the place where they filmed the Carnival scene! The second movie is based off the third game (Silent Hill 3) and has several characters from the first movie in it as well.
Ah, that makes sense. And I sort of drooled when you mentioned they're making a new movie. Based on the third game eh? Haven't played the third one yet, but I heard it's scarier than two... Is that right? Thanks man!

Trollhunter is good, not horror though, but a monster movie.

Blair Witch, as well...
Blair Witch was one of those movies that I thought was real... Got me so scared, but felt dizzy at the same time.

Also since we were talking about Vampires earlier, and since I live in Alaska, 30 Days of Night was a pretty good movie.

Yeah. Silent Hill 3 is the most disturbing, goriest, and scariest one of them all I believe. Oh, and darkest too. Yeah Revelation 3D that's what I meant. I forgot the subtitle. but in terms of scary in Silent Hill 2 to 3; Silent Hill 2 is like my fluffy skul-animal prize toy that I won at a fair and Silent Hill 3 is like the dead possum I saw on the road when I was little. (yes there is that HUGE of a difference). also Silent Hill 3 has my favorite soundtrack of all the Silent Hills. and I found that Silent Hill shattered memories is linked to Silent Hill 3 as well.

3D movie? Well then tell me how it is, I hate those movies...
I'm pretty sure you can watch it in either or but when I watched RE: Afterlife in 3D I was surprised with how well it came out. it didn't try to do any cheesy random spike or object jut out at you kind of thing. it just gave the movie more depth. especially the underwater scene. really well done.

Insidious hands down is a movie that has finally made me jump a few times after a long time. Other than that, watching Drag me to Hell had me jump a few times (maybe cause I was watchin that with friends) and The Ring (maybe cause I was watching that with friends too).

Drag Me to Hell added in jump moments because the rest of the movie was fail. I downloaded it, watched it once, then deleted it. I really didn't like it at all. The ring (like all movies from Japan or Asia) was more suspenseful than anything I think. I want to watch the final Paranormal Activity because I saw the other 2. I thought the Chinese original version of THE EYE was really good too.

I agree. Drag Me to Hell was more of a comedy/horror type of movie. And YES! The original asian version of The Eye was amazing; much better than its american counterpart. And Paranormal Activity was not that scary for me, I thought parts of the movie, the characters could have had common sense... Didn't like the plot, wasn't as intricately crafted complexity of a story than others I have watched before. The Blair Witch Project was a much better movie, in my opinion.

Also, have you seen the remake of Dark Water? I haven't seen the original one yet, but the remake, I thought was great.

The best part of Insidious for me was the part when:
there was old, happy sounding music playing on the record and a kid dancing in front of it.
gave me weird feelings that I didn't want to ever experience again. The movie was good for the first half, and tolerable for the last half. But it's still a nice movie.

Can we combine this thread with mine..So we have both :)
Kinda late but I just merged both threads.

This is so sad.

I've never understood this: Why do people enjoy getting stressed and scared by assassins/paranormal beings. It's kind of masochist.

For me, being scared gives me more feeling towards a film because all of my emotions are being pulled. The suspense keeps me on the edge of my seat and the jump scares put your fight or flight sense to an all time high. It's a great feeling XD. Not to mention that horror movies tend to have very well made stories.

Ehhh? Really?
I was expecting to get scared shitless since I don't really like scary movies, but it wasn't really scary. (Maby because I was suspecting everything to jump at me so I was over prepared lol.

I heard a very disturbing horror movie was Audition. It is a Japanese horror movie.

Interesting point of view, but you killed it with that last sentence lol. I actually think they're pretty generic and predicatble.

Yea, like the dumbass friend who ALWAYS sneaks up behind the main character in order to say hello. Who the hell does that? Seriously

I've recently watched 'Martyrs' and I thought it was a good horror movie (it's been a while since the last one)... definitely disturbing, but good.

Not only that:

- The black guy has a 1/9 survival ratio.
- The latino always dies.
- If there's two chicks, the hot one dies.
- If there's kids, the most adorable dies/becomes possessed.
- The protagonist never dies. Neither does his girl.
- WTF moments never happen at the begging.
- The ending is obvious for like half of the movie.
