[Wisconsin] Wisconsin still exists? WTF?

anyone lurking here should try to make it to either the tournament in racine or madison, if you are confused on how to get there post up, i'll respond

This site has ten times as many logged-in users as Caliburforum every time I look. I hate it, but I think it's time for everyone to jump ship.

Hate it. Hate hate hate. Hate the confusion, hate that every single time I log in here I see someone say something screamingly stupid, hate that our old friends from Chicago are the ones invested in the old site, hate the arrogant, selfish, dickish dynamics of the whole Soul Calibur community. I even hate this thread title. And the design of the site. And the Wiki, begging me to fill it in.

Fuck.

you also hate smash bros after playin me :). This site looks way better than caliburforum. But our thread title is whack and who is the dude who made it? Does he even play?

Look they may be nice guys but they're bad at running a forum. I agree, everyone needs to come over here. I'm even tossing out my semi-permanant lurker status and starting to post just to try to get the wi people to come over here. BTW, you know there are multiple themes you can use here right? So if you don't like the layout, there are others to choose from. However, I do agree that the whole drama surrounding these sites is bullshit.

In other news wisconsin still exists. I just checked.

If you're in the Waukesha/Milwaukee area, we can arrange to set something up at a place called Hobbytown at National & Moorland. I can bring the Wii for Brawl, you can bring the 360 for Calibur.

I live in Iowa (Dubuque, which is the edge of the state, but still Iowa) and 75-100 minutes from either Madison venue, so I dunno how much I'd be up for hitting up Milwaukee (4 hours?). ;P Though, if you're in Madison for a tourney on the same day as me, I'll go for a money match in both games if you're up for it. You do itemless Brawl or All-Brawl?

Haha, I'm back from my general SC hiatus and yes, I still play. There's just no community up in effing Minocqua and I have no viable way to get down to Madison (which is 3 hours south of me) on a regular basis, that's all.

(Very late post, hadn't seen the reply to mine.)

When I do Brawl, I prefer to use items, but all of them are under review. Most of them are acceptable to me, and in fact, having numerous items makes each one less likely to appear, in turn adding a balancing element. The current one that I'll be adding in because of questionable ban status is the fan, because it actually is inconsistent with the characters and not necessarily inescapable. There's the luck factor, of course, but Sun Tzu said you should know how to face both inferior and superior forces to truly master conflict.

Also, my roommate recently acquired Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe which, while it doesn't seem like it would be worthwhile competitively, is certainly good to play for fun. I never really played Mortal Kombat since the first 2, and as I was in my single-digits at the time (my baby-sitter didn't really care about this game), I didn't really get to master it the way I've gotten games now. I've got both bosses unlocked and prefer to play Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Batman, Joker, or Captain Marvel. Sadly, none of the women have been playable to me, and now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever been good at a female character in a fighter.

Yes, I did purchase SSF2THD, but mostly because it seems like required material for any fighter gamer. I actually don't like this game anymore; I feel like I've grown out of it (no disrespect intended to its pros, especially David Sirlin). It's just not my style. We owe the existence of all fighters to it, though, so I felt it was necessary to get this thing.

Other multiplayer competitive games I have and would certainly bring to events with my 360/Wii, but I don't want to really drag on any further:
Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 360, Tenkaichi 2 & 3 Wii
Castlevania Judgement (hate the misspelling, but it is how the game is spelled)
Guilty Gear XX Wii (I only play Ky)
Dr. Mario
Yoshi's Cookie (oh, you'd better have an A game against me)
Metroid Prime 2 (eagerly awaiting Wii remake)
F-Zero GX (not everything unlocked, sadly)
Warioware GC

Probably more, but if I can't think of it, I ain't passionate about it at all.

(Copy-pasted from CaliburForums and SRK for the two of you that might not have seen it)

Hey-o. Running a multi-game event on (probably) April 25th in Dubuque, IA. Games will be:

SF4
HDR
TVC
3S (teams, probably)
Brawl
GGXXAC
And, of course, SC4

Think any of you guys would be up for it, especially you Madison guys? Only 90 miles away.
