I got the XBLA and iOS versions of SC1, and it is amazing. Great, fluid fighting, and has this nostalgic feel; it's like playing SC2 for the first time all over again. I don't know why, but I feel the series has moved from this direction, and I can't explain it. SC1's charm is really good, but I'm sad I can't play the missions. I might get a Dreamcast for it.

SC3 deserves an HD re-release. Don't remove any modes, hopefully nerf the A.I., use the Arcade Edition's engine, and definitely add online play. I'd say SC2 would work just as well, but SC3 had the most potential.
 
I have to admit that I was a little disappointed they didn't release an XBLA/PSN version of SC2 in preperation for SC5's launch like they did with SC1 before SCIV's launch. I really wanted that.

Totally agree with you. I'd definitely support and HD remastered version of SC3 that uses the Arcade Edition's gameplay engine in a split-second. We need to get the word out to Namco and at least make them aware that there is a demand for a Soul Calibur HD Trilogy Collection. For me, it doesn't even have to have online play, since a lot of serious players prefer to actually meet, which circumvents any lag whatsoever... no matter how negligible the impact on response time is.

Overall, I'd take a polished SC3 re-release any way I could get it.
 
No, I wouldn't buy it if it didn't have online. I don't have time to meet up with people every day, and as good as the single player modes were in SC3, they eventually get boring because the AI sucks. But playing real people never gets old.
 
I just think there must be a Soul game on PSN...
Just like Tekken 5 DR is still there, why not SC3 which was a PS2 exclusive?
Even more now, with many players crying for Zasalamel and Talim...

I was glad to see good old SC coming out of that old Dreamcast exclusity too, eh?
 
I just heard that Soul Calibur III corrupts the memory card at some point. Hasn't happened to me, but I'd say that Soul Calibur III definietly deserves a HD rerelease. Keep the single player and shop content, use the improvements from the Arcade Edition, and polish the bugs and glitchs, I've never experienced bugs or glitches in III but my PS2 is near death so a 360 and PS3 port is needed for me to enjoy it more.

But why stop there? Why not Soul Calibur with all of the Dreamcast content and online play, and bring back Soul Calibur II with the guest characters intact. (You can port it to the Wii U later) And then, go back to the start. Remake Soul Blade in HD. It'll be complete.
 
Yeah they should really consider re-mastering it, and put it on the marketplace, or even better just remkaing it , for the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3. Like in all seriousness, the only reason i keep a Playstation 2 is beacuse of Soul Calibur 3, it will always be my favorite, it was the first Soul Calibur I bought on my own, my Friend had Soul Calibur 2 on Xbox, spawn was so beast!!

My SC3 couldnt save that strategy mode wich i cant remember its name
 
A remastered HD version of SCIII would be awesome. I would definitely buy that! If it didn't have online, well that would suck but I would still get it because SCIII was one of my favorite SC games. Just imagine how the characters and levels would look in HD version. I can only imagine how levels like "Lost Cathedral", "Indian Port", and "Battle in the Strait" would look like. And I second keeping the Shop and all the content and all the modes intact. CAS would be quite fun too only I hope they would add in a few new garments.

Yeah, and I'm all for a HD release of SCII, SC, and SE/SB.
 
I would enjoy playing an HD remastered Soul Calibur III with all the features. It would definitely be worth my while to play that game and re-live all the moments from Tales of Souls to the initial feature of Create A Soul. It would be a game most worthy of being played over and over. I hope Namco gives Project Soul the green light to do this, and remaster it to perfection.
 
How did I not post in this sooner?

About two months ago, I got a Dreamcast and Soul Calibur. The missions were lots of fun and I give the game a solid 10/10; the first I've given to any game in many years.
