My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

I... I don't know how to respond to this kind of thread... But I'll give it a shot.

I grew up with the PPG, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd, n Eddy and other 90's shows as well. And yet I have no interest in this show. Not saying that it's a bad show... I just don't see what all the fuss is about.

Ah well. To each his own I guess.
 
That's the wrong section to post about it, just saying. It's a show, not a video game.

Last I heard they are still in alpha testing of this MLP fighting game, but that was a couple of weeks ago. When the game is finally released I will be playing "my girl" Twilight Sparkle. ::Grin::

Unfortunately, I do not have any of G1 ponies doing a roundhouse kick. :( I will have to do that sometime and put it up for you Bronies to see.


 
Some male friends, and some female ones, who are hooked on the show pestered me to watch this show. After like 15 episodes, I still can't figure out the appeal, nor do I wish to keep watching. The show is...cute...though, I guess.
 
It is not a requirement to fully liking the show.

Bronies what are you favorite MLP of all-time? I.E.: Generation 1, Generation 2, Generation 3, Generation 3.5, Generation 4 (the current one with MLP: FIM).

In the month or so I was away from the forum I actually decided to watch the whole show. No, to be more precise I wanted to ignore the show forever but my brother started watching it and I decided I may as well find out what the deal was. Long story short I liked it quite a bit. I eagerly look forward to new episodes no less. I would ask if you've actually seen it. I guess it may not be for everyone but I think that the vast majority of people who HATE it are doing so on principal or are simply idiots. Unable to appreciate good writing, likable characters, anything that might make their fragile self image seem less "macho", or that most despicable of qualities to he-men pea brains everywhere, charm. If you are without a sense of humor, if you insist on being able to take your entertainment "seriously", or are devoid of a sense of kindness or whimsy then the show is definitely not for you. As for me, Ive loved quirky shows with diverse casts of characters like farscape and bleach, and as a kid I used to save ants from puddles. But you don't have to be a goody two shoes to enjoy the show, it's got a surprising amount of cynical humor and the best moments are when they turn kiddie morality fable conventions on their head. Failing all else, it's cute.

I will say though it's not like I'm gonna run out and buy the toys, and anyone who views the ponies in a sexual fashion is deeply disturbed. There is a boundary you can cross as a fan that probably generates more hate than the show itself.
 
No, I've never seen the show, except for a few minutes of the old one when I was a kid waiting for Transformers to come on or something. (I hated it, naturally).

I do love Ni Hao Kai Lan though. I wish they'd make more episodes of that.

I also feel bad when my wife or mom makes me kill a bug. :(
 
Myself, being an artist I picked up at Super Walmart a MLP: FIM large $1 coloring book that has great large referance of the many of the characters from there show. Many fellow fans and artists have been asking me to draw the current generation with the older generations of MLP's. On Monday a finally had a chance to pick up at Hot Topic a "Doctor Hooves" T-Shirt. ::Grin::
