How do I play this at 1080P Resolution?

Just got a Full HD TV.

Previously been playing this game on my PS3 at 720P with my old TV.

Tried all my other games that supports 1080P with my new TV and they all display at 1080P.

Not for this game though. The back cover says it supports 1080P but when I put in the disc, it automatically scales down to 720P.

Am I the only one having this problem?

the only way to play it in 1080p is to buy a dvdo edge [around $500] and it'll rescale it ... or get the xbox version.

Or just go into the display settings menu for the PS3 and only check the 1080p box. That forces upscaling.

The game's 720p native though so you're not getting any real benefit from doing so.

Playing SC5 at 1080P has horrendous lag from the upscaling. Just play it in 720P. You're not really missing out on anything.

You don't. When we got a big HD TV my dad and I were flipping out because SC wouldn't run on 1080 and we didn't know why.
It just don't.

OH thanks so much guys for the reply. Haha no way I'm buying an Xbox just to play it in 1080P.

I was just wondering why the game states it supports 1080P when it doesn't. Unlike my other games which states that they display in 1080P and actually do it.

Just playing this till TTT2 comes out (I'm more of a tekken player but I do enjoy SC alot as well....just that I suck major balls in it haha)

I think I read somewhere that on most multiplatform games, the PS3 versions are almost always 720P, and are just "upscaled" to 1080P. I would be mad, but I don't care about resolutions too much.

Games basically lie about 1080p support, almost all of them scale from 720p to 1080p if you choose 1080p as resolution. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, Super Stardust HD and Pixeljunk Monsters are a few native 1080p games I can think of. You have to wait for the next generation if you really wanna play games in 1080p (or hook a PC up to that HDTV).
