Lol, *taps out*
Anyways, Maybe what really needs to happen is have Alpha, Cervy, and Mitsu, get nerfed. That would buff Leixia a bit by itself.

The problem with patch 1.02 wasn't the fact that Leixia got nerfed like she did, it's just that those who were even more dumb were left alone.
i have to disagree with you here, the real problem is not just damage, here tool set is very limited.
once you play leixia vs a person that knows her in and out.
she just cant compete,im sorry but its true she is not viable, there a reason everyone is dropping her.
you could say damage was a problem she had in 1.01 but now its must worse, her mix ups and defence opening tools are sub par.
in version 1.01 at least she had guard break pressure , why do you think namco gave her such guard break pressure before because PS fear with her low damage, she would struggle to open her opponents up.

the problem is she was over nerfed to the point she no longer viable.
she has many problems, one of them being you can push buttons vs her with out risking much.
she doesn't have the burst of offence pyrrha has or similar close range fighters.
she has to tip toe her way in and out of pressure in order to maintain offence.
right now she is among the low tier characters for sure.
she the kind of character everyone likes to play against because there isnt much to fear.
nerfing
there is no way nerfing 3 characters will make leixia better in anyway she struggles vs most of the cast not just a few.
the only way to help her out is to buff her directly full stop.

Did anyone notice the changes I suggested under the green heading a few pages back (Page 5)? I feel like all of these could be implemented without making her OP. Maybe add *one* from the yellow category, and she'll be all set as an upper mid-tier character that's both viable and competitive.

I'll take a look at that and make a fair suggestion. I'm sitting on the game right now, and currently making my Leixia balance patch post. So, give me a second, here. I think the key in buffing her is to make a fair WR B BE. People seem to find it hard to buff, or nerf, but I think I have an idea.

I'm happy to see so many people sticking up for her.

Although let's not forget Leixia is never supposed to be a major character in this game . Would they really want people to pick the Chinese sword style over the samurai and ninja style? Let's not forget where the game is made. Knowing their culture, nerfing leixia was not exactly a surprise. Don't get me wrong I don't think this is a bad thing. But I just want people to to realize that she isn't exactly a "fair" character to play with. It does take 3 time more effort to win a match with her than with anybody else. Guess they are trying to figure out who's really loyal to her... Lol. But all jokes aside, she is still some people's favorite, including me. So let's figure out how to get better with her current move set and stop wishing for buffs that are never gonna come.

I don't really see why people keep saying this, especially when Leixia's predecessor, Xianghua, was one of the most rape characters ever. She was amazing in every Soul Calibur game except for IV, where she has was 'only' good. Taki was nothing compared to her. They focus on her fighting style, not on her background.

(Your theory only goes for Namco's hate against Korea. Poor, poor Mina!)

I started late SC IV so I didn't know Xianghua before. If my theory was wrong I apologize.

She was a extremely strong character, and if you like tier lists, she was always near the top or at the top.
But in 4 they nerfed her down to just being a good character.

They took that, and kicked it in the backside.

They sure did.

After going back to the previous games, I never realized how many options Xianghua had on SCIII. Not to mention the speed. Ugh! The only problem I had was my signature move 66A+B lacking in range, even thought it got better in SCIV.

Though pretty much everyone was incredibly swift on SCIII. Including Setsuka. Setsuka was pretty deadly for her debut.

People are forgetting SC III: Arcade Edition. They already nerfed Xianghua in that one.

The main characters of this game are both Greek. And the old main character, Siegfried... well, I forget his nationality, but it's definitely not any kind of Asian.

German. Siegfried is German. Xianghua was the main character of Soul Calibur. I haven't ever tried to verify this, but people tell me her storyline was the canonical one. She was the one who destroyed Soul Calibur in that game.

No, she destroyed Soul Edge, not Soul Calibur! She was the original wielder of Soul Calibur.

But yeah, Xianghua was top tier in SC1, SC2 and SC3, mid in SC4 and now Leixia is low-mid in SC5 1.03 in my opinion. Maybe Namco still wants to see her bleed after they made her so strong in SC3. :P

True, but she lost Soul Calibur as well. In fact both swords got trapped in some kind of void, after she beat the Inferno. That's why she was stuck with Edge Master's unnamed Jian after that.

master of the story
I won't argue with you, I just wanted to say that Xianghua (and the stupid guy with the rod) were the first to destroy Soul Edge. ;)

Unrelated, but I don't care what anyone says about Leixia's 3B. Clearly, Ivy's 3B is the most spammable 3B in the game.
I think it's too funny.
When SC5 came out, so many Ivy players complained about not having a good launcher. 3B doesn't hit grounded and doesn't combo into anything big on NH. But they had not realised that they have a SAFE, fast, TC + TS launcher with 80dmg (?) on CH without meter. What more can you ask for??
At least we have something (more) reasonable to complain about our character. >.>

Shall we go back to how we can play leixia better or maybe realistically how Namco can make her a more viable competitive player?

How To Play Leixia Effectively:
1. Don't get hit.
2. Hit the opponent about 30 times as much as they hit you (only way to win)
3. Hope to God they know nothing of the matchup
4. Capitalize on their ignorance.
5. Realize that this will never work.
6. Tell me to stfu with my unhelpful advice.
7. ????
8. Not gonna go there.
