Le Bello's Challenging Create-A-Soul Challenge Contest!

i love matty's marie-antoinette, not really difficult to pull off, yet very good taste as always ;o)
and i am french, so i pity the poor girl...don't you have the beheaded version too ?

Yeah I was worried she was a little to plain, but hopefully she reads french, thankfully I didn't have to resort to a barret and a stripy shirt ;)

I really wish there was a way to make her headless, tried to represent it with the touch of blood around the neck

Meh, I had various ideas, but for some reason none of them worked well. I know is pretty generic but...frustration due ideas don't working made me give up.

My first option was a Queen's guard/Buckingham palace guard, but I couldn't pull of the hat.
Then I tried Napoleon and Joan of Arc and failed too.

Finally a gave Turkey a shot, and here's my Ottoman Turk Sultan: Osman.

I won't retake the photos, but now that I look at it I think I'll make his shoes red.

I've missed so much lush, passionate conversation in the last 36 hours ( I spent my only day off in jail, YAY! Remeber kids, if you don't take care of any fines associated with court dealings they will find you)! So I'm going to post an entry from my own CAS thread, Anastasia, to represent Russia. I altered her original design to reflect more peasent/earth tones, changed her face, hair color, make up and some equipment too. I wanted to keep the aristocracy feel of her outfit though. LordDraco, Im really glad you liked her before I posted her here. I did all of the changes specifically for this challange.

FINALLLY!!! Get ready everyone!
So, while I maybe be an expert on ancient european melee weaponry, I know little to nothing of people/garb, that of which Asia is my specialty. But I did realize types of european warriors I DO know about: The Romans!

Lucius, Roman legionary

A legionary is a professional roman soldier that get's enlisted into an elite legion after 25 years of service. They are armed with a short sword [gladius] (the Spatha will have to do), a shield[scutum] (SPOT on with that one), and a javelin [verutum or pilum] (ha... the arrow...). The armor Lucius wears is known as Lorica segemntata, layered armor strips. Cervantes' Sea King Mail and Greaves, the Steel Gauntlets, and the belts of the New Centaurion shirt resemble it quite well. His helmet is a galea, which not too many helms available resembled , except for another Sea King piece (sans the gold band I added with Feathers of Strength). I just love the Sea King Mail, especially with the little scarf-y/cape thing! I'll include some reference photos. Even I love this thing, I'll probably keep him after the contest! WHOO!

Also, here's aprototype if you wanna see it,
Lucius (1).png

Hilde's style was used for tha fact that the Lance resembles a verutum (albeit supersized...) and the Ring Dagger (pretty much EXACTLY a gladius), yet I had to fabricate the scutum from a Turtle Shell... which I ended up deciding against... Another up of this style was the sheath of the sword resembles where a legionary would set their daggers. I wanted to include the Warrior's Belt, but it interferes with the wrap he wears...
Thank you everyone!

I like it, i have never seen a sultan CAS before, fresh idea, nice hat execution, good job.

There's some already super awesome CaS here by some big names. I'm excited for this round. Anyway, here's my entry. From Spain, I bring you El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha.

Design notes:
- Technically, Don Quixote was a nobleman, but he was a little poor. He is also depicted in armor, reminiscent of European medieval knights. Taking this all into account, I went for a look that combined tranished, somewhat rusty armor over dirty, old clothes. Accordingly, I aimed to use colors that were more washed out than what I'd normally use.

- The tiger stripe pattern was used to impart a worn, poorly maintained look on the Jodhpurs, Warrior's Belt, Silver Gauntlets, Pauldrons, and the tops of the Justice Boots. Rusting on the Steel Plate was done by use of a camo pattern as was the cracked leather on the hands and boots.

- The Golden Helmet of Mambrino (which is really just a shaving basin) was contstructed with the Thief Bandana and two pairs of Rabbit Ears. The area under the Rabbit Ears was stickered white to simulate a bandaged head. Motif 88 was then placed over the back of the head, signifying possible injury to the occipital lobe, the visual processing center of the brain. I would think this would make visual hallucinations possible, like seeing dragons where there should be windmills.

- A Turtle Shell was scale patterned and resized to construct a shield to go with Don Quixote's lance.

Damn all you talented folk.
You make deciding who to vote on so difficult. :c
I see one design I really like and think "ooh, I'm definitely voting for this one when the voting starts".
Then I see another well-crafted design and become indecisive.
Then 10 more well-made characters come along and fbdiukfhdjfwke.
*sigh*
Inner turmoil </3

OKAY GUYS so finally heres my entry

so, Finland is my choice, but i was not going for a historical figure since Finlad was a part of the swedish kindom, so, i went for a mythological being, and i wanted it to be a woman because i see to many dudes already

nothing more to say, i give you

VELLAMO

Vellamo is the goddess of water and seas, like the winter in Finland, she has a cold heart, she lives in the bottom of the sea, inside the castle of Ahtola, where most of ice and water creatures live...

she is pictured as a mermaid, but since there arent any items mermaid-tail like, i put some scales on her legs, and gave her an ice-like frozen look, with some fins on her back.

I must say that while i was playing with her she looked white clean and cold, me like!!

hope you like it!!
