RIP DLC

Sure. Would be the same like SC2 NM/Sieg. Different voice and all. Just the same char gameplaywise.
It wouldn't make sense why she's the same height as her daughter though. she would technically be taller. But it doesn't HAVE to be perfect. Or Leixia could just become taller (It wouldnt be noticed in gameplay anyways. Just like how Natsu and Pyrrha have the same face but Pyrrha's is just always sad and has minor freckles (To me anyways))

There's really no reason to say "I want X back but not Y" or "Instead of, before Y, etc". Every character that has been in this series has fans. All of them. What we really should be asking for is for all non guests to make a comeback, in DLC or the next game. Even if they don't fit the story, just make them unavailable in story mode or at the bare minimum as selectable styles like Devil Jin with the pieces to create them ourselves.

That'd be the easiest way to put it, but online mode would be so broken it'd be unfair.

Not if they were correctly balanced. I'm not saying they could just slap it together, of course it would take work but look at some of the other fighters out these days with huge rosters. It can be done and I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't have more characters had Namdai not rushed Project Soul to get it out the door before Tekken.

If that happened this game would be the most unbalance piece of crap and not have much character variety. All the characters would eventually end up being roughly the same like Tekken.

But Sophitia, Pyrrha, Pyrrha Omega, Cassandra, Patroklos, and S&S Lizardmen? That sounds like awful bro. And Hwang and YunSeong together seems pointless. And Li Long and Maxi. *Lists*

Putting Talim, Zasamel, and Yun Seong back in as styles would not break the game.

Putting every old SC style in would though. So just put those 3 back in and we are good.

I was just about to say that, thanks for beating me to the point. To continue this list, there would also be Kilik, Seong Mi-na, and Xiba. Two Yoshimitsus. Natsu and Taki. Xianghua and Leixia. Edgemaster, Charade, and Olcadan. Viola and Amy for double the brain dead. This amount of characters would be redundant.

And? If you had that many variations on themes, would that really be so bad? Nobody says you have to play all of them, and if there were only minor differences between them it would only speed up learning to fight against them. And personality comes across in a moveset; just taking your example of the S&S characters, that would give you styles that move like a confident veteran fighter (Sophitia), scared amateur (Pyrrha), angry and violent (O-P), confident and playful (Cassandra), Arrogant and unique, compared to the others (Pat) and wild psycho (Lizardman S&S). You might only see six styles with swords and shields but I see six distinct personalities that come through in everything from their stances to win poses and thats a boon for character creation.

Only problem with that is with so many movesets being so similar there would be one of them that has an edge over the others and people wouldn't even bother playing the other 99834827 which would make including them redundant. Also personalities are just attachments to a moveset skin.

And I dont want to argue, thats just my opinion. Frankly if all they did was put back Talim and Zasalamel, I'd be very happy. And if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose any of the "similar" styles to put back I'd probably choose Seung Mina. Xiba is so different that there are a lot of characters I made in IV that I just can't do in V because they'd never act like he does.

If you were to be able to select different intro/win/lose poses for CaS' would that make things better?

Honestly it would. And perhaps to condense things, they could do something like Samurai Showdown and Last Blade did in their later installments, where you could choose a style and then choose a neutral, aggressive and defensive sub-style that had the same attacks but animated them differently.

I almost never use the actual cast, but I invest a lot in my creations and if it doesn't look right to me, I won't use it. Example, one of my Valkyrie from IV used Amy's style. I gave her Ivy in V because even though Raphael was also a rapier style, I felt Ivy fit the character's personality more than he did.

You think you're a nitpicker until you read what annoying "technical" players have to say about a fighting game.

Hotaru has all of my hugs. o3o

Give me 5 or 6 S&S users, 2 Rapier users, 2 Staff-wielders, 2 nunchuk styles, etc.

The fans should be appeased more than technical junkies.

^'The fans' aren't the ones who give games long time support. They just play it, then drop it when something new comes around.

Well, I don't really think they're mutually exclusive. You can appease both, but I don't pretend to think it wouldn't take a lot of effort and time to pull off. If they did though, they'd be my heroes, programming and design wise.

We need each other. The technical aspects carry a game through the tourney circuit which gets the game good word of mouth among those groups. The casual fans also have to be happy enough to spread word of mouth among their circles, and also so the game has appeal to someone just picking it up off the shelf. Neglect either and the game will die on the vine.

Uh huh, sure. Such a fitting avatar, Solo.

I'm just saying it'd be too hard to balance that and I feel like the best thing to do would be have extra player costumes can change voices, animations, or maybe even the animation of certain attacks but still same properties (Example: Vertical slash going up or downward vertical slash). Especially win poses.

I agree with all that minus the changing animations part. That would make combos look weird and make moves harder to react to after you get used to seeing the default animation. Oh well, since I actually attempt to support this game outside of my house my opinion is void.

Using alternate costumes for different animations is more problematic than SC3's CAS-only styles.

Get over yourself, boy. Going to silly tournaments is not the only way to publicly support a game.
