Iron CAS

Ladies and gentlemen meet Olanna.

Oops, her trident was cut :< Zoomed out enough this time :D

I came up with the items quite quickly, but spent too long trying to figure out a color scheme to no avail. The belt clipping through the wrap's belt made them a perfect combination.

I don't think you can see it but the pants and the black belt have very similar shines. Also this is one of the few CAS that keep both top and pants post armor break.

I named her on a whim with a generic African name, turns out it's an actual name. It supposedly means Father's gold/beauty or God's gold/beauty in Nigerian, perfect :>

I liked the item combination so much so I've made another character with the same clothes. Don't judge me :<

Since the design is complete I focused on the colors and frankly I love the result.

Again the grays have the same shine. The flowers aren't the same but they're close enough.

Didn't want both of my entries to be palette swaps so I attempted a guy too. The concept is the same of extending the top and using a clear and simple palette.

The items are meant to look similar to his skull chain thingy. And I'm really happy with the pattern and stickering job since I rarely use stickers (I should work on that).

Since I can't read kanji I'll pretend this one is the same one on the front sticker.

Here you can see the wreath around his belt.
I might change his style later to be able to use him online, although I think aPat suits him the best.

Why don't you take multiple shots of your characters? At least just one static full body front view (and if necessary back view too).
I know dynamic shots are more interesting, but you can't really see the design details or how the character as a whole looks.

All of these are amazing forreal congrats to whoever wins/won. I don't have the patience to sit and edit characters like that I would rather just chill and change colors to the 1P's & 2P's lol

(Offtopic: I'd like to hear your opinion on a CAS directly inspired by one of yours. I'll mention you when I post it next week).

Wandrian: While the idea is admirable, the patterns make the item look like a silly manly dress. Still though, I hope to see you enter more.

NeclordX: Though that Mitsu and Leo are strong entries, today you were outshined. However, do know they're still captivating to me. The last one is kinda plain for even a plain jane CAS artist like me.

ThePascuzzi: I actually adore that CAS Ken. However, you were also outshined. Despite that, you're a strong entry.

FreeMeal: Nomura-man is actually quite nice. A few more tweaks, but I can't put my finger on it. Just for now, you're a strong entry.

Why?
Everyone was a strong entry in their own right, yet this challenge kinda felt underwhelming. Mainly because there wasn't much entries this time. Take heed recycling designs is fine, but Mistakoo just wins because he actually went the extra mile to customize. If I had an active camera, I'd take my recycled stuff and try to tweak them to win, or make something productive like Wandrian and FreeMeal.


Anyways, Mistakoo wins at providing a simple yet elegant 3 color scheme with experimenting. Proof that trial and error is always your friend. They also give me ideas since they look natural and enchanting in their own right. So once again, Mistakoo wins out of busting his butt for it. While others not named FreeMeal and Wandrian be outshined.

Pocky Yoshi was slightly dissappointed since this was basically a free win contest to Mistakoo. Still though, I hope you guys learn something. Lazy work doesn't always reward you. Pocky Yoshi knows this because he made a B+ on an essay once, but became lethargic and pulled a C- on the next one......


The Cloth wrap challenge will begin today and end on August 8th. Voting begins on the 8th and ends on August 10th.
 
"Snatches victory"? You make it sound like I only won because I bribed everyone or something like that. Well I'll bribe whoever the hell I want to, okay?
I mean... erm... yeah, this is one hole I can't dig myself out of.

But seriously, I really do appreciate every single vote; I'm probably not good enough to hold up in a competitive tournament so this is the closest thing I've got! ...Yeah, I take CAS a little too seriously xD
Congrats to Mistakoo too, it was well deserved. And personally, I think your entries in this latest competition are your best yet.

I can't see myself being able to make anything that can compete with the current entries so I may end up throwing out more bribes sitting this one out. Then again, I didn't expect to enter the last couple of times, so you never know :)
I'm studying horrifically difficult physics now and I damn well miss writing essays! Though I understand :P
