I like Asholette and the Elf girl. They fit the series and have the most detailed designs of all of them but just need more characterization. Asholette could fit well being a neutral servant of Astaroth.
All of the SCIV bonus characters, except Shura, don't fit the series pre-SCV, especially not when Soul series started. Since they are apparently bending the rules a bit on the roster because they are obviously running out of ideas (Z.W.E.I., Viola), the only ones that fit personally are Shura, and Ashlotte.

Ashlotte was in particula a nice char, a think there many things that they haven't done yet like daggers, mini ring blades, many thing and char ideas in general, give us evil\good bipolar char, Tira is evil\sadic evil bipolar many things

I think Tira is enough as it is in that department. The whole multiple personality part is what makes her unique, and PS uses that to define her style. Having another one would lose that individuality.

Might I mention that Tira's personalities really aren't evil/sadistic. They are mainly what the game labels it as: Jolly/Gloomy. Clear opposites actually.

Ashlotte was weird. She was supposedly made to have no personality outside of a sense of duty to kill Astaroth, then she goes around saying stuff like "Bring peace to those without guidance"? Dafuq is that?

"Toys are most beautiful right before they break"-Jolly and evil "Scream to me" Sadic and evil. But I like mutiple personality....... oh well.

She was part of a evil cult, and had those kinda of quotes was very cool XD "Dirty hands can't clean your tears"

And Solo you don't care to much XD

Actually I dont see how Zwei fits at all, I mean the Tekken producer thought he was gay-looking. Pretty much says what he looks like. His weapon style is too fantasy and out of place in SC. I mean SC was fantasy based but wasn't in fantasy if you get me. Soul calibur was comparable to inuyasha in its setting where as Zwei is more of what Bleach is.

Design-wise, obviously PS was running out of ideas, but one positive thing is that it is different from the rest, no matter how weird the wolf may seem in design.

But....still they were out of ideas so they wanted to break the roles and add more "fantasy" characters rather than "fictional, but with a semi-historical background" characters like Xianghua, Mitsurugi, Maxi, Taki, and...pretty much every other Soul Blade character. I wish I was contributing to character designs. Well, few anyways, because I would be making Asian after Asian. lol

I'm referring to "different" from the rest of the roster and how they fight, and that it is.
The series used to be an unofficial tournament styled adventure about real world weapons used in exaggerated ways. ZWEI is exaggerated but has too much outer-body assistance it doesn't fit the game anymore... I mean SC used to be about normal people exceptionally skilled at weapons styles they've mastered in their own countries who then travel outward to fit the magical sword (the only magical item) to achieve greater power. They had to fight with the limitations of the human body and mastery of just their weapons. It was like Tekken and only characters directly attached to the evil sword had mutated their abilities based on it but still relied on only their weapon. ZWEI just falls into something exactly as how the Persona series works. I mean Sc4 already pushed the barrier a bit but only with nightmare and sigfried. SC5 now feels like everyone has superpowers.

The problem I have is that they team seems to just make characters and shelf them right after. I mean the last 3 games were mainly focused on Seigfriend vs Nightmare. Every other character was just there for people to use but get no canon attention. If people are attached with the older characters they grew up with then the team should focus on building them. They already had a large classic cast and it being already iconic what reason do they need to create new heroes? People love Tak, Xanghuia and Cervantes but they were always just purpoesless and extra to the series. Lizardman has never had any relevance other then species diversity, give HIM a role. They dont have to make new characters as if they're forced to.. they can just recreate old ones from the past and bring them back. Tekken always had a solid large roster and made new characters still within the original theme of the game.. Revenant, Berserker and Assassin were decent templates for potential characters and already had backstories tied to them.. they just needed more exploration. SC can also add depth to the characters if they incorperated historial themed mythological events back ito the series to make it look more like it was and less into this fantasy dreamland SCv became.

Viola's character design is acceptable. The crystal ball is a little out there, but not TOO far. Not when there's also an alchemist with huge breasts that wields a sword that can break into pieces and follow commands. But Z.W.E.I. crosses the fantasy line for me. And I don't care what anyone says, that wolf is ugly. I'm glad Pyrrha pushed his ass off a cliff. On a side note, while story isn't as important as gameplay in a fighting game, it is necessary. Its lazy not to develop one, and maybe people could accept the loss of past characters if they could relate to new ones. Maybe i'd like Xiba more if I knew who the fuck he was. Because right now he's just malnourished and annoying.

Geez, I'm the only one here who like Z.W.E.I ,personality wise he is far better than Patroklos just give him a new move list.....
I do, that's why I can tolerate him. I like Alpha Patroklos more than Regular Patroklos on that department.

Oh, I forgot to mention her, I actually accept Viola because the ball IS her weapon and her character potential if involved with the swords is too high to be bashed. To me she looks like a character that would speak for the swords or detect where fragments or malfested humans are. With a story aboud souls her attributes of looking into people's souls to find what their darkest desires are sounds pretty relevant. Her character seems to be on the same theme as Zasalamel. It's magical use but its not that far fantasy where its uncomparable to to real life or even mythological life.

The next game should be "Soul Calibur: Eternally Retold"

400 years after the events of SCV, every character in the series has long since died. However, their souls are not free. When Soul Calibur and Soul Edge were neutralised, they created a 'limbo' where the two opposed each other with equal and opposite forces. As a result of their conflicts involving obtaining, neutralising, challenging these swords, of whatever else they were intending to do, the characters' souls are trapped inside this limbo, never to be freed. Worse yet, no one has memories of themselves dying, so they believe that they're still in the real world, fighting for or against these two swords. Thus they fight fruitlessly against each other throughout the centuries.

This rather dark backstory is, of course, merely an excuse to have the Soul Calibur equivalent of TTT, whereby every single character returns, with the exception of the guest characters for obvious reasons. Thus meaning you can have fun pitting Sophitia against Patroklos, Taki vs Natsu etc.

Yo I know you said that along time ago , but that sort of puts them in the state as the pawns in dragons dogma doesn't it?

I think Zwei should be retconned into something else, just say he had amnesia or something. He should get an identifiable cultural background and a new name, I'd suggest south/west Asian. Maybe even give him a scimitar.
As for his moves he should lose the wolf and focus on his deranged cool way of holding the sword.

As for Mitsurugi and Cervantes they can't go, they are the badassness/testosterone representatives in the series!
It's not their fault they don't have a greater role in the story. Maybe give them some sort of rivalry given that they were the original good guy and bad guy respectively.
As for Cervy just make him half dead, maybe make half his head (or body) a skull and give him a generic revenge storyline.

I like this post so much.

What's gonna happen though, is if we get an SC6, they're going to put in 2 or 3 new characters and ZWEI and Viola are going to fade into the background of irrelevant characters just like Talim, and Ivy, and Yunsung after their debut games were past.
