what song (part or complete) would you like to have as a SC soundtrack?

I love these type of things.

-Leixia (Still containing the Chinese Traditional feel, and also gives a rather joyful mood that describes her perfectly. A little reminiscent to Xianghua's SC3 theme song, but more "childish".)

-Natsu (Totally fits her character (Japanese influenced, but with a modern twist), especially since she is the successor of Taki.)

-Mitsurugi (With the exception of the guitars, as nice as the song sounds with them.

-Voldo (Inspirations of this from 0:00 to 1:19, but a lot faster in tempo, as well as inspirations of this, but faster in tempo and louder in dynamics. Maybe some opera influence along the way. Now that would be pretty...different for him.

-Xiba-Surprisingly one idea I could think of for him. A little serious for his character, but that doesn't mean he can't develop.

I'm surprised you don't mention Taku Iwasaki ;) He made the OST of the Rurouni Kenshin OAV. His music has an epic dimension the SC OSTs really lack.

This one sets me in a fighting mood in no time ;) :

And I never grow tired of this one :

about taku iwasaki, even though i loved the soundtracks, i didnt like the OAV that much, so i never think about it, but thanks for reminding me, and about rock´n roll, i like that song for fighting too :D.

I think I have some theme songs that fit Kilik:

"Golden Diva" by Flying Lotus: Probably this song is more like Kilik's tribute to Xianglian.

"Buddhist Song of Repentance": This one sort of fits Kilik's whole theme for repenting for his sins.

ZWEI-Definitely inspiration from This, and the percussion and 1:33-1:54 from This. Add some violins and cymbals and this would turn out to be amazing. Not sure why I want ZWEI as a Persian character, but he sure looks the part in the facial structure.

Viola-Just keep "Dance of the Oracle"

Tira-Just keep "Mischievous Whispers"

I do have a few suggestions...

This is how you make a fucking final boss song:

I just can't get over it. I first heard it about a year ago and I'm still humming it all day long.

I also think they should take some inspiration from real music. This would be an awesome theme for Raphael:

Anime games also have some pretty amazing music. This right here is Dragon Ball Final Bout for the Ps1. While the game wasn't exactly good, it had one of the most amazing fighting game soundtracks ever. Here's one of my favorites:

And you can't mention anime game music without this of course:

A violin SC style version would be the most epic thing in the universe (I can't believe I actually used that word in the right context lol).

There's several others I'd like to add, but I don't think anyone wants to spend a whole hour just reading this post.

Now, we can't just suggest to add random tracks we like as inspiration. I believe the direction SCV took regarding music doesn't exactly fit the series too much; it focuses too much on the wrong things, with boring melodies like Raphael's and crappy themes like Aeon's. They should focus more on the base melody (like SE and SC1 did), that creates better themes. And I'm not just making this up, take a look at this:

Yeah...

I see a lot of Orchestral influence in SCV's soundtrack that make it so distinct from how it is commonly done in video games. Raphael and Tira's themes especially.

However, I'm beginning to notice a structure that they do in the soundtracks. If you listen to the beginning of many of the themes, you will hear it. It's like a "intro-transition-main melody" kind of structure. If you listen to Z.W.E.I.'s, Natsu's, Xiba's, Leixia's, Mitsurugi's, Patroklos', and Pyrrha's, you will notice it.

The only few that don't have it from what I hear is Viola's 2nd theme, Tira's, and Alpha Patroklos'.

Now back to the topic, somewhat.

-Menu (Pretty fitting for it)

-Pyrrha (I picture this more of an ending song for her).

-Cervantes definitely needs something like this for inspiration. Add some Spanish folk influence somewhat like this, and Cervantes would be set for life.

-I don't know where this would go, but it sounds awesome.

i didnt know the infamous soundtracks were that good, that is a game i have to try out.
Yes, the soundtrack for inFAMOUS 2 is incredible; probably one of the best game soundtracks ever made. The Beast is my favorite track without a doubt and I wish SoulCalibur had a tune like it. It is not supposed to be character specific (idk if I want to give a character a theme considering they each already have their own), but this could play during major battles in an improved story mode. I love how the track sounds peaceful and quiet at first and then it progresses forward by becoming tense, then epic, then chaotic. Fights like Siegfried vs Nightmare, aPatroklos vs Pyrrha O, Maxi vs Astraroth, or Edgemaster/Mitsurugi vs Algol comes to mind. Imagine fighting in places like Last rites of the Battlefield, Free Imperial City: Old Quarter and Denevér Castle: Assault with this music in the background lol.

Viola-Definitely think "Adagio" (the first one) would be good for an ending of hers.

-For his theme song, percussions from this (not sure about vocals), this (of course it had to be inspired by his father), while this could be perfect for an ending or cutscene involving him.

-Around the 1:08 mark, inspiration of this, and definitely a more Japanese oriented version of this for a certain character in particular. lol

-1 and 2 Not saying who those are for. *snickers and crosses fingers* I'll give you a hint. It's not Setsuka.

(Maybe an instrumental version)

Any fighting game can use some good old symphonic metal. Half of the Nightwish/Tarja songs I've heard would be awesome in a fighting game.
