Viola Combo & Tech Trap Discussion

If this was true, the damage from the combo wouldn't continue to accumulate, right? I'm thinking he's doing some fancy Asian JF timing. Look at how he inputs A+G. Instead of mashing it out like I would, he times it exactly when 6B+K connects. I think with perfect grab timing, the stun properties from 44A BE reset because the grab was not buffered. Unless this really is some glitch that accumulates damage from the combos even though they are all separate.
You don't need to have Asian JF timing to do it. Just delay slightly before you input A+G. If they try to block the grab will catch them. Its actually relatively easy. :P for some reason the game continue to accumulate damage after a reset.

Ninjaguy is right. I also thought this might be true, but though the whole thing frequently counts as a combo when I do it, if you set the dummy to second action duck you'll never get reset damage.
 
Are the 6B+K B (or 66A) 66B combos known? I haven't see anyone do them yet.

3B AAB 6A+B 2B+K BE 6B+K B 66B 2B+K BE 6B+K B AAB 66B 66A+BB 190 damage, two bars.
3B AAB 6A+B 2B+K BE 6B+K B 66B 2B+K BE 6B+K B 66B 2B+K BE 6B+K B AAB 66B 66A+BB 230 damage, three bars.

It's kinda retarded! :D Adding 6B+K 6B 3B to the first combo will also make it do 230 damage.
 
yup they have been listed on this thread if not by synraii by someone else, its how viola does her tod combo without a wall or throws.,

HOWever no one has noticed you can do 66kBE (full) into B+K BE lol try it pretty neat, who gives a shit about meter anyway if you picked viola you might as well score some unique flash points !
 
Hey all: I won i46 and landed a 180 dmg viola combo off of FC2K on stream. Will post when its put on the net.
And I am AWFUL with Viola these days, lol.

The footage is all there in bits and pieces, been watching it today some interesting viola play going on, emperor cow was a weird one to watch, and you need to use more 44a BE !

Dont think it justifies a ban though, if youre all waiting for that tournament tier viola with TOD combos, you wont see it. MLG and I46 had solid Violas who both went to a different character after losing!
 
If you mean Kayane, she's overrated, there seems to be a belief that she's at Keev's level and with the best will in the world, she just isn't. I like her in person, but she is not an RTD or Omega, lol.
Also, i46 had no good Viola, mine was the strongest and I will happily say my Viola is rubbish. Also, the argument that she isn't winning majors is a BS excuse used by idiots, scrubs and trolls. Hilde never won EVO in SCIV, she deserved no ban obviously. >_>
+ on block unreactable mid/low mixups that deal between 136 and 240 damage depending on meter is 100% ban worthy and to argue otherwise is silly.

I won't doubt you on it, but as did you and Kayane; Lost providence, Kinetic (and maybe something unique too) all played a game with Viola, and switched character after looking shaky.

Not going to lie, her damage is rediculous, and execution cant be excused. I do think she is solid and definitely bannable if theres a huge shake up, but i think there needs to be something that tips it over before you call it, she isnt an all around good character, her frames come from punishable attacks with fast reactions.

The only things i see being broken are her damage, which can be toned down with a patch, the back grab infinite, which is banned already, and Just Guarding GI's from 44a BE setups. With meter she becomes a whole different character, but so does algol and numerous other characters can reach her damage, with better normals and mixups, and much better frames than her.

Algol cannot instakill from 2K... or 3A, 2A, 6B, lol.
To be honest i quote myself watching MLG the other night ; "If any of these guys hit over 150 damage from a 2k i'm maining Natsu before they even have to ban Viola"

It never happened. Pyrra mirrors grand finals. Gotta love that 3b CE damage!

B is AC'able
You mean Set 3B → AAB → 6A+B (slight charge) → 2B+K BE → 6B+K → 66A etc. The B isn't air controllable and can be used in place of the 66A. B is easier but less damage.

lol if I have to put set when talking about a combo string, damn plus it was a response to someone who had done that part of the combo so I assumed they knew, wasnt necessary to post that

You also left out the 6B+K before the B.

imo its better to use 66a instead of the B because it removes the need to sometimes step forward to connect the 2nd lot of aab , after doing the B from 6B+K they can air control to the FR FL R L and escape AAB
where as if you use 66A no chance of that happening

No, you're right. I've just discovered that sadly/fortunately they are only possible if the opponents tries ukemi'ing. So if they do, you can pull off the combo. If they don't ukemi,

3B AAB 6A+B 2B+K BE 6B+K B 66B 2B+K BE 6B+K B B+K BE 66B 66A+BB

should work. 3 bars, a very little bit more damage (around 193 or so).
