I love this thread never gets old.
Anyway I guess, if they are working in the next game, it is greatI can't have a inpersonal view of this game, cuz I like the chars, so I'm happy.
I think us fans should stop arguing if the story is important or not, we should think about how to help imrove the series =)
The fact that they CAN make another game already gives a HUGE opportunity. They need to redo everything about this game. It lost its way. Im sure they thinks its a good game but they fail to compare it to other games on the market and their worst mistake was trying to copy them.... but that can only be realized if this time they actually make the needed changes... dont add DLC, dont just add random unfished weapon classes (Id rather not have them back) dont recycle SCV and repackage it.. The last thing I want to see if them pull a Capcom on us. They just need to acknowledge what people want on the basic standards that SC3 uped the bar with when it introduced us to the idea that Fighting games CAN have content in them too... and recollect on their mistakes with SC5 (horrible storymode set up / horrible new characters /horrible costumes.... and then survey us on why we liked the franchise to go over why the series was once so successful and what of many things SCV did wrong.

As I tried to preach before the series needs to be rebooted, adding in characters wont fix anything more then give it a few hours of more replay and a spark of intrest. To keep that intrest they basically need to revise everything they did well and apply it. They dont need to copy other games but do what they did when they were coming from SC2 into the huge jump they made into SC3. The one that actually used their creativity.

Rule #1 - No Tekken Content... (WTF were they thinking? trying to cash in on the SF x Tekken hype? How dishonest. Dont market this series for other audiences! People should want to buy this for Soul Calibur Content.)
Rule #2 - No more Street Fighter Elements. (In fact remove them altogether and reinvent the old SC mechanics... If they are going to swipe anything, steal the critical stun and critical burst from DOA5.)
Rule #3 - Reduce the Special effects and go back to the realism the series once aimed for.
I don't care where should the story start on the next game, I just want some of the old characters back
No. I'm quite surprised they made a fifth one, considering they said that IV was probably going to be the last. However, if they do, I hope they take longer on it so they can FULLY complete it, and correct every error they made in V.
I'm going to spam the hell out of them if he reconsiders a redo of the storymode or better; reboot the franchise. (Recreate what we have but back to its roots gameplay wise AND atmosphere wise.) It wouldn't matter if they get all the time until eternity if they don't sit down and address whats wrong with the series now. I only fear that they don't address the issues on the same level of needed changes as we or more specifically I see them. I think we need fan imput but the fans don't know the actual problems but preach things that are totally uneeded like the extra weaponstyles SC3 to be brought back.
Remember the Virtua Fighter series? Even the 2D and 2.5D series such as Street Fighter, Persona 4 Arena, and KoF 13 require some serious time invested in order to be competitive online.

Oh do you remember the epic BGMs and the "casual thing"...nice days

I wasn't feeling the music in 5. It was fast paced to keep with the game speed which was cool, but meh. The previous SC's music had variety and a nice, slow feeling to it.

That is all.

I don't ever really seem to hear the music in this game. The intros to the tracks, a little bit sometimes. But mostly, nah. Algol's theme is the only one I ever really noticed because it has sore thumb disease.

I think we have enough threads arguing over music, its the least of what I care about now. Though the previous games had iconic tunes, SC5 had the most rounded soundtrack of actual dramatic and booming orchestrated themes like Hilde's and Elysium's. I say more of that. Moving on..

But I dont even know the title of the tune, all the other songs are named.
No one is "arguing" over music. They are just making an opinion on what they like best, just like you have an opinion on everything else.

Of course the music in future installments we can predict will be as great as previous ones. Bamco themselves never lets us down on that part.

Do you guys think that there will be a soul calibur 6?
No. I'm quite surprised they made a fifth one, considering they said that IV was probably going to be the last.

You may say that but that is an essential part of the game. Any game actually.
It's ironic because he talks about the 1P modes but with bad music the entire game would be boring(including gimmicky 1P modes) unless you had to use your own custom music. It would ruin the game for some people just because they had to do that. Lol

I knew there was some hypocrisy going on, but I didn't think to realize it.
