Did you ever played Soul Blade? If you finished the game with Inferno (Soul Edge), you'll see in the ending someone finding the sword 400 years later. lol

Edit: Here's the ending:
Lol, hay how bout this, let's make a TekkenXSoul Calibur, and some one in Tekken can find Soul Edge and then the war began, it will be cool if the story takes place in the modern days.

Yeah but how the hell could Tekken Characters even get in on giant zweilhanders? Well... Devil Jin can, so yeah. LET'S DO IT!

Why no Soul Calibur X Tekken?

I'm worried that if they import more Tekken characters, they might import shitty Tekken mechanics along with it. That would be AWFUL.

You want something from Tekken in SC (besides Yoshimitsu)? My take is you make a legacy-type character. A "SC" version of a Tekken character. For EXAMPLE, an ancient Mishima, and you play up their connection to lightning powers as part of the fighting style. The devil/angel shit is cliche, and we already have duality as a theme in the game with other chars (Sig/NM, Pyr/Omega).

Not just that, they'd be targeting the wrong market again, SC is already gimmicky now as it is...they should be featuring anything but themselves right now until they are established as s noticable IP again.

As far as I've heard, PS toning down the sex appeal/fanservice pissed quite a lot of Japanese fans off.

I like Japan (more than U.S. because of personal reasons), but Japan can't be THAT crazy about sex. It's bad enough they censor things, too. Not saying what. lol

I could be wrong but I don't think it's the most popular game in the tournament scene. At this point, competitive fighting games are essentially a spectator sport, and not many people enjoy watching Soul Caliber. It slower than most popular games, and it hasn't been known for it's deep systems.Regardless on how fun this game might be to play with friends (and it sounds like it has some flaws), I don't think it will do well. It just doesn't properly serve either audience.

Please stop saying vague things with no backup or justification to serve your own point of view. You make us all look stupid when you do this.

As far as I've "heard" Tekken and Virtua Fighter are quite popular in Japan. Arcade scene and all.

Dynasty Warriors is pretty popular too, since this is why Xbox 360 players can't seem to get any of its expansions now.

I'm beginning to feel like fan service attracted players to SC as well. Aside from Taki's "everything" visible from her outfit, many people loved SC2, because of Link only. Not one mention of Spawn, and Heihachi is a Namco character, so no surprise there. If you hear anyone say that they loved SC2 more than the other games, more than likely the name "Link" will be in that same paragraph, especially in Japan, since they LOVE Nintendo.

Personally, SC was doomed once they introduced guest characters, because that equaled massive fanservice. It brought the wrong type of consumers into the mix. Usually those that expect more than the amount of fanservice in SC2 to be in there more often.

Which I understood deeply that SC toning it down for SCV was the best idea they could ever think of, even though they tried it with that horrid Ivy ad even though Voldos was better.
