iCS/CS and SS information

I have a question for any stick players here. I just went back to stick from pad and I'm having massive trouble with CS live tried two different grips and neither of them work, and they both are training on my arm. What grip you you guys use, and any tips would be much appreciated. I would put up a video but I have no luck with my computer.

I used to struggle too.

I started using a new grip where I placed the stick between my little and ring finger. I used to just have a fingertip hold on top of it.

The wine-glass I think it's called, just through the wrong fingers.

To practice, try to buffer it into an easy move like A+BA. The animation of the move is a really good indication of how long you have to get a CS.

Do nothing but 28284 till it's clean. Then nothing but 666 till it's clean as well. After that do a nice slow-ish move and try it as a whole.

It took me 30 minutes to get my first one, and a total of about 3 hours to get it all the time.

Practice makes perfect!

(excuse the double post)

Yea, it works in a fight, but you got to be fast. And yea, buffering iCS through guard with this method would take a lot of practice. But I don't know any Ivy players that can buffer iCS through guard. My suggestion is go to training and buffer CS through nothing. Go faster and faster using this method as you go, then iCS will come out.
I can buffer ICS through Guard.

I don't think "buffering through guard" is a correct term.

I always thought buffering was when you input the directions during a move. And according to Ring it's not possible to "buffer" iCS.

I seem to be able to buffer it just fine. If you want, Add me and I'll show you. And yes the Just version of the throw.

Don't doubt my knowledge on Ivy, I know it's called iCS. Buffering is when you do iCS straight after the move. If you take even a little step forward you haven't buffered it completely, and it's this step you need to get iCS.

It can be buffered though taunt and through guard.

I know, but I haven't seen anyone give me video evidence that they can do it. I know it's possible.

Saying you can accomplish something and actually achieving something are two different matters.

Its just like doing iCS in SCIV when guarding or taunting.

Well why don't i show you sometime on PS3? ;)

It been known for a while that when you do iCS from neutral, Ivy take a slight step forward first before iCS come out.

But it seems its possible to do this from neutral without the forward step.

Was it a fluke, or does the person who did that do it on a regular basis? ... How, dammit? :D It would be nice if whoever did that contributed something more to this thread.

Theoretically it should be possible to get iCS with 282846662 or 282846668 when it's done fast enough.

I think the known ways to prevent Ivy from stepping forward when performing iCS are:

1. During Taunts
2. Buffering during the crouch recovery(Credit to Ring)
3. Rolling off the ground
4. And buffering iCS with Step, 282846662/28284668

What do you mean by buffering during crouch recovery? You mean when getting up from a crouching position?
