Leixia Q&A/General Strategy Thread

Well, Patroklos definitely has the best meter build. Then probably Viola and then I dont know.

Yeah I remember you made that thread. I guess what I meant was, how important is someone's meter build in a match? Yes I know characters like Pat and Viola build meter very fast, and Cerv can build meter for free at range with upshot UB. But I mean, I've never been in a situation with any character where I'm like "Damn, if only so-and-so had better meter gain" or "So-and-so is sooo bad at meter gain, they need a buff"

Considering the fact that most of her strongest meter builders/meter building strings are reverse mix-ups and/or unsafe, I disagree. Unless she's being creative, unsafe and/or semi-unsafe and/or doing reverse mix-ups constantly, her meter build-up is average.
 
Personally, I find myself wishing for situations where I can use meter more often than actually wishing for more meter.

There isn't a concrete list of each individual move's meter gain, but Kalas made a list of her best meter generating moves/strings. If you want more meter, find ways to use these moves more often.

You can do some quick number crunching if you really need the "exact gain" from each move.

My point is that her meter gain is only above-average if you leave yourself open and rely on gimmicks and reverse mix-ups. There are plenty of characters in this game who can gain equal amount of meter or more than Leixia whether she's playing "the way she's meant to play" or staying strictly safe while staying safe.


She's hardly among the best no matter how you play her unless the opponent is just allowing her to reverse mix-up from -2 without punishing her at every turn.

Seditious, leixia CE has a TS and is i12. Her WR B has a TS and if you delay the BE input you have a slightly longer TC. Having the meter for these moves forces your opponent to play differently.

Leixia CE TSs zwei 4A series and 66A+B, mitsu 3B series. Yeah i know you can backstep mistu when you block 3B and he has meter, but mistu wont really use it that much and you really lessen guage pressure. Same with zwei.

There are probably other moves it TSs: yoshi 3B a:B+K 8A+B Tech trap too.

When leixia stocks her meter she locks her opponent down

Wait... does FC3B ~ 99BB only work for punishing ducked throws or does it still just have a really weird hitbox that sometimes whiffs?

FC3B ~ 99BB only works against ducked throws against those characters. If you hit your opponent with FC3B because they ducked or because you blockpunished (e.g. Ivy 22K), they will be able to block 99BB.

Any particular reason for why this is or is it just the game being weird again?
 
Hey, is Leixia's sidestep just really really crappy, or is this game actually just a 2D fighter where you can dodge things once in a while?

I swear at least 50% of verts people throw out at me while I'm sidestepping hit me. What's up with that?

I usuallly have the same problem. am i rubbish at side stepping, I think? but it might be Leixia as i'm good with Pyrrha.
