Setsuka's A+B Counter

Angrel-San

[10] Knight
Her A+B aGI system is different now, and some of you could not know about some things.
I'll post here all I know about A+B. And I will edit this post if we gone find something new (topic will stay closed).

A+G aGI (m,sm,sl)

aGI starst in 5th frame, and last active frame is on 11 frame.

A+B have 10 levels, and 5 attacks.
We starts from lvl 1 and go to the next level after each aGI, rapel, perfect rapel (it gives only 1 lvl, not 3 like in sc3), and JI aGI (it still gives 3 levels). After parry, A+B levels don’t go up.
A+B levels doesn’t reset after round.

Attacks:
1 (lvl 1-3) - on Perfect aGI umbrella will connect. On normal hit we 8 frames advantage. When attack will miss we are in neutral with opponent.

2 (lvl 4-5) - KND, we can make 33B, wsB, 2K, 1B:B on laying opponent

3 (lvl 6-7) - we can connect umbrella, 44B+K, bA, 1A:A:A or Sakura Combo. Also we can make standard combos starting with: wsB, 33B, 6K, A+KB, a:g:B.

4 (lvl 8-9) - forward RO

5 (lvl 10) - Sakura Moon Combo

If we have enough levels we can choose with attack we perform by holding some direction.
A+B 2 attack 3
A+B 4 attack 2
A+B 8 attack 4
A+B 6 attack 1
A+B 5 attack 5

There is a visual bug that make A+B looks like normal not aGI, attack. Just make A+B after 214B+G.

O_o so confused....im a noob here so jus to see if i got this down correctly everytime i auto GI (parry wit A+B) it will go up a level? because i use that move often and I can't help but wonder why im always hitting them wit the blunt part of the sword and not doing the insane silver moon combo or this other spin move she does that launches them.

Yeah. You have to use the GI consistently in order to pull of those sorts of moves. Don't over-fish for GIs, though, or you can set yourself up to take some meaningless damage.

The good news is that you go up a level whenever you GI period. That means even ordinary repels (and parries I think) contribute to the auto-GI level. It's best to try using the move against people who start off matches by being over aggressive (Taki, Amy, Mitsu, and Sophie players like to abuse their characters' abilities to aggro or punish). Being constantly GIed should make them more hesitant to attack, so at that point, you need to start throwing out your mixups like :1h::A:::A:::A:, :1h::B:::B: or Sets's insane throw game. Once they start getting mixed up bad enough, some people will start trying to abare like mad. That's when you start using the powered up GI.

After parry, A+B levels don’t go up.
A+B levels doesn’t reset after round.

Also what did that mean?
if i aGI i wont be able to increase its lvl anymore?

Well, best out of 5 is the standard tourny match length so you might wanna play with that.

And "after parry" means after a 4 or 1 GI (back or down-back G). So if you want the level to go up from a standard GI, it has to be a forward GI (6G or 3G).

And level not reseting after rounds means that if you got the aout-GI off five times in the first round, you'd still be at lvl 5 in the next round and you'll keep the accumulated number until you restart another match or go back to the character select screen.

my usual room is first to 3, 80 second matches.... its usually over within 20 seconds but i like to have the time to check messages sometimes (assuming my opponent understands that im not there when im standing still) sometimes my xb is a lil slow and i cant quit it soon enough before the match starts.

anyone wanna have a match? my psn is phatkat66
i need tons of practice against tougher opponents.

My friends hate me cuz they think im "too good" and wont play wit me but against other real SC players i pretty much suck so im stuck in the middle.

Again, only play on 3 rounds, 60 seconds. If you set the game to anything else, you are actually hurting yourself and/or your opponent. In tournament play, this is how all the rounds are set, so you have between 180 - 300 seconds to figure out what your opponent is going to do and win. Setting the time longer, with more rounds, gives you potentially 560 seconds to do the same thing, almost double the amount of time. This can actually make a huge difference in actual matches.

Even kicks.
Really a good autoGI move. Good to use against strings you know it will hit ( Mitsu 66BB as an exemple).

There's some setup you can try to bait succesfully with A+B : 11B blocked, 2B+K blocked, 214A blocked.
It's not something to abuse but it has its use and when it's succesfull, it's often very good.

I've tried out that entire list a while back. Most of them work, although there were a few that were really difficult to pull off, and some I could not do at all.

Wasn't me! :o
/innocence.
In all seriousness, awesome work on the list that all of us can hijack (and then use against you for our own diabolical purposes) :D

Yeah, I was a Tira player first, and I only by chance picked up Sets who can also use that list to good effect.

I've always toyed around with expanding the list to make viable for all characters (basically, all strings that can be GIed out of), but at the very least, I'll probably port that list to the Sets thread after I do a little bit of testing to make sure it works out.
