Xbox 1 tidbits

Back in 2012 I was saying that the next gen console gaming platforms were going to be digital Download only games, because it gets rid of people paying $10 a month and getting unlimited multi-million dollar budget games at their door. Then they complain that online passes, DLC, and season passes are a form of extortion, when in reality, those are just things to try and compensate some form of money from those people who don't give publishers any money.

Making games download only not only is more cost effective, it allows the publisher to get 50% more per typical sale, per unit as before when people could just pirate, resell, or rent.

Nobody took my words seriously, nobody cared, because everybody expected next gen to still be on disc. Now that it's finally come to fruition, everyone seemed to become blind sided by the DRM protection ware that follows. Of course Xbox One needs DRM, PS4 has DRM too. The people who are most upset by DRM are game pirates, or people with horrible internet connections.

Either way, if a person in this day and age can't afford a basic $35 per month internet connection, there is no way in hell they'd have the money to buy a $400 or $500 piece of hard ware gaming console. Happy weekend to everyone!

I do like the fact that there's no worries about scuffed up or broken disks. I'm on my 3rd copy of scv and 3rd copy of sc4 Lol. So would've saved me alittle cash there.

Has MS said anything at all about lowering game prices? I'm more interested in your proof.

Games can sell for less now that developers are actually getting sustainable revenue. And even if it retails for $60 still, that's a miracle in itself because it's the exact SAME price we were paying for games back in 2001. And games in 2001 weren't nearly as high budget as they are now.

Did I not post a link discussing said game prices? Even if it wasn't directly from MS its still not from my mouth. You posted shit and nothing more than that.

Pretty sure the norm for new games back in the PS2 generation was 50 bucks, not 60.

I'm going to really dig Skype on Xbox 1. I have friends from Soul Calibur on Dreamcast that I'm still in touch with in other states that I haven't seen in years. It will be fun to catch up and see their families then switch right over to beating that ass in SC ,:)

It was just some shrub saying that "Steeam steam steam steam...."

It has no evidence backing it at all.

Hey we get it Marginal. Your not a fan of Xbox 1 and that's fine bro. Don't drag the thread down just buy your ps4 and be happy.

Anyways I like the TV control Xbox 1 is offering as well. This thing is gonna be pretty amazing. The new Live sounds awesome too.

The TV voice commands are amazing also! I pay around $100 per month for my cable, not including my high speed internet. I think if the TV services are good enough I might switch to just watching Hulu if it's a lot cheaper. Also being able to swap between playing two games while waiting for one game for an online match is AMAZING! No console has ever done that before.

So if you're waiting for a match in SC5, you can switch over to Minecraft and play, then once someone gets matched against you, pause Minecraft and play your SC5 match!
