Hilde Learner's Gathering (360, Online)

Hey guys! I just got a 360 PM from someone on the forum, and I figured if there's enough people to do this, we could get a bunch of people together online at some point. I'll be giving Hilde "lessons" on the 360, although I'm probably not all that good, and I'll be helping new people learn her and some of her neat tricks.

I'm free this Saturday, and I can get on SC4 at around 10:00 am (PST). I'll also have a laptop nearby, so that we'll have access to all sorts of cool internet dataz (like frame data, matchup tips, char-specific things) and although it's online (and sucks!), we can contribute our findings to this forum, I guess!

Note, that it'll be a private game on the 360, so you'll have to PM me first for an invite. Also, I live in California, and I'm on Pacific Standard Time. Hopefully there won't be any lag, but it's SC4 online; I don't have my hopes up.

Before you come, please be at least somewhat familiar with numpad discussions and things: read the Newbie Silencer first! We'll ease you into it online as well, but it would be worth getting accustomed to how we discuss things.

Oh, one bad side: unfortunately I guess there will be a limit of 3 other people that can join. If someone else who is good with Hilde wants to host their own, I think we could contribute a bunch of stuff for people trying to learn.
 
Well, what we could do is all log into AIM and make our own chat room. Call it Wolfkrone, and we all just chat and fight one another in various rooms.

EDIT: I've made the chat room. So anyone who wants to join can just IM me and I'll send you and invite.
 
Woah...this is supposed to be for this Saturday! I can't play right now! I have a HALLOWEEN costume to buy/make/prepare.

Oh, and school. That random thing that college students do. Yeah. And Mirror's Edge on Friday. I have that too. DAMNIT! DAMN YOU SCHOOOOOOOL!

I just have one question for you- What inputs would you recommend binding on the shoulder buttons for the 360 controller?

Seems fairly redundant when you mention that - If you're looking to learn to play better, Confidence would be the first thing. :P


I am good with hilde - I suppose I could help a few people as long as they do understand what stuff means when I explain it.(like you said with newbie silencer) Feel free to send friend requests to me cause' that is as far as I'm going to go to get involved in this.

Thats fairly late at night for me...But I'll try and be awake if I'm wanted around~
 
coroso4, I suggest binding both A and B. Personally, I use a control stick, and for Hilde, I think it's going to be a pain in the butt trying to bind to a controller. I always use RB for B+G (which is hard for me to hit on a controller) and RT for A+K (also hard for me). Then I'd probably swap K to LT or LB, and put G on the other. Then at least when you're charging, your right hand won't be doing anything, and you can kick/guard.

Ideally, you'd bind RB and RT to A and B respectively, but I can't handle that; I tried it and my fingers just got too confused. Then again, I've been playing on an arcade stick for years. Surprise! I can't use a controller now!

Also Niichts, I am pretty confident that I'm good. I just don't want to sound uppity. And, by hosting a learner's event, I don't really want to say "I'm going to teach you all good stuff!" I'm using it as an excuse to a) hope someone better rolls on in, b) teach people what I do know.
 
Are you still doing this? I just want to see how a really good Hilde plays. Very curious, and you could probably teach me a thing or two

This is one of the rare occasions that I have a PS3 and a copy of the game for a day or two, so add me on PSN (Minerva_SC) for some Hilde teaching/learning.
 
This is still going on. If people post in this forum, as you have, then it'll happen the following Saturday at 10 am PST (360 only.) SW seems like he's willing to host in on PS3, but you'll have to confirm that with him.
