Missing character discussion

My list of most popular characters (based on advertisement):
Voldo- on front cover of first console game in Europe, not to mention he has been in EVERY VERSION of Every Game up til today.

Mitsurugi- took front and center in the PlayStation cover everywhere else.
Siegfried- canon-wise beat the final boss
Sophitia- was on the side of the arcade cabinet along with Mitsurugi on the "Soul Edge" machine.

Kilik, Xianghua- on Soul Calibur were new characters AND were the 1p and 2p cursors defaulted on the two.

Talim and Raphael- two premier characters in SCII that weren't descendants nor successors of characters from the previous game. Ivy- this was her time to shine from here onward. She later became a Soul Calibur mascot since SCII.

Mitsurugi, Zasalamel, Tira: All were on the SCIII cover? (not to sure, I do not own the game) Z and Tira were the 1p and 2p cursor default starts.

Sieg, Rugi, Taki, Ivy, Voldo, Astaroth-- all on Soul Calibur Legends

Nightmare, Ivy (again), Sieg and newcomer Hilde)- on the cover and cursor default starts.
(I'll skip SCBD)

Soul Calibur V : (Pat, Pyrrha, Ivy, Mitsu, and Siegfried) first 5 characters to be announced for the game.

Apart from the subject, between Mitsurugi, Voldo and Taki, who has had the most appearances in the games? <-Trivia

Umm.. People hate Pat and Pyrrha now, and u miss one just one really importent character. Cassandra she is one of the most popular character in this game. I know is hard to believe because most of u guys are in America and Europe, but in Asia people are crazy about her, 8 out of 10 player's favorit character is Cassy. One of the reason that SCV sold really bad in most country in Asia because Cassandra is gone. I know it probably sould ridiculous but that is the resalt of the survey in Asia. U guy probably think that SCV did't sell that bad, but a lot of Soul Calibur fans in Asia did't even know that theres a SCV, and a lot of people bought this game and sold in as second hand in Asia.

Says who.....

Pyrrha is probably the most popular one out of those who debuted in SCV. Also Natsu, but people also hate her for not having pointy breasts allegedly being OP.

And if Cassandra is so popular in Asia, they and PS are having a bad way of showing it.

Well the first time Pyrrha was showed most people criticize the moe nature of the character, her victory poses and quotes tend to be mocked.

Well Taki is awfully popular all over the place and even so she is not in it. At one point it was said Cassandra was going to be in game but they run out of time.

I just started learning as Pat actually. He's a bit obnoxious, but fun to play as. I like Pyrrah's design okay, but she's not fun to play as for me.

I always liked Cassandra a lot, too. But I don't really want another sword and shield character in.

Actually it's Pyrrha Ω that's popular not the normal Pyrrha, as far as I know. And the stuff I'm saying is not my personal thoughts it's based on the servay in Asia.

Actually I think they never want to put Cassy in this game because if they do, running out of time would not be an excuse. They can release her as a DLC character but they didn't.

Because it's a free servay so not every one did the servay, so it's probably not 100% like what I say. And it matters more in America and Europe more about what characters you guys like because to be honest Soul Calibur is not really that popular in Asia compare to Europe and America, plus now most Asians are play online games more then PS3 or Xbox games too so I'm pretty sure u guys play more then us.

I think not really much people even know about there's a soul calibur leagend, I do believe Ivy is Popular I believe, but I think Miturugi is not as popular as people think, because he is not really a special character, he was only on the game because he's the icon of this game. And Singfried too.

If it's not too much trouble, can you upload a link to this survey?

I would like to but the link has already been shut down, the reason they did that is because they want to decided what characters they would put in Soul Calibur 4, yes that survey was done in 2006 a long time ago. Have I mentioned that the new Soul Calibur team suck? That's why 5 was messed up, now the team is trying to reunion and prepare for the next game.

I think those two points said it for me. Not only is logic of the comment, and source its based on, EXTREMELY outdated , but virtually every major character, except Hwang, Li Long, Olcadan, and the SC3 bosses, was in SC4 anyways.

And the "new" Soul Calibur team, is hardly even new. Members have been alongside Namco for quite some time. Only difference is the director, who even then has been working on the SC series before SCV.

Actually you know what I think, I think that it is just an excuse for the people that criticize them when they said that they messed up the game because they have a new team, I have been working in different video game companies ( actually I'm still one of the workers in Blizzard now ) as far as I know changing a team is something pretty commen, people in game production teams change probably every year, sometimes it even changes every month, there are always people leaving and new people join in. So changing a team won't really bring anything wrong to a game, I know a lot of people didn't like SCV, to be honest I didn't like it either. But I think the problem is not because they change a new team, the problem is that they are rushing this game. They didn't take their time to make this game better. That's why this game suck.

Blame Bamco for the time restraint.
PS also had to work under stressful conditions such as half of the building not having electricity or something because of that earthquake/tsunami incident. http://www.1up.com/features/how-japans-earthquake-changed-developers
It's really unfair to say that they didn't take the time to make this game better when they ran into all sorts of issues. (>V_V)
And again, Bamco should be blamed for rushing Soul Calibur because of their super crazy love for Tekken and they wanted to work on Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Ugh, it makes me so mad, I want to kill DJ with fire.

If they need to bring back some old characters, they better bring all and not only the popular characters. Every character in this game has fans, and when they take a character out, you lose some fans which would lower the money you would make, I hope they have learn their lesson in SCV by now.
