They are not going to remove a character that won the first major tournament for most recent game. (evo :P)

Im a Tira fan boy but Im gonna say the fighting "style" is definitely staying, altho dunno how you pass on schizophrenia to your kids, its not like Mishima karate haha

I doubt Dampierre will stay tbh.
I'm also set to believe that she wouldn't be removed because of her connection to Sophitia and her children. Not to mention she doesn't approve of the new nightmare either. She's important if they want to do something story wise, but it's their game and they could find a lame reason to get rid of her lol.

And yes damp can go, but I think they should add a style from ninja gaiden the kisurai gama I think it's called (the scythe and chain). Kind of similar to how Ivy's whip can attack grab the chain would have some of the same effect. Someone also mentioned before that most of the characters are western, and this style would be earstern for a little extra culture to the game lol.

well, considering Team Soul logic isn't completely legit and they don't care about story or character relation too much then i'm not willing to bet anything on knowledge of story or characters. TS will do what they want. regardless of logic. so the best thing to do is to expect the worst and hope for the best.

Actually they do. Just SCV's was told the wrong way.

i don't get how the story board writers don't make a decent story that's easy to follow for a SC game. i mean, it can't be hard. i've seen preteens write short stories and do a damn good job with it, let alone professional writers that get paid to do the same thing. all these unanswered questions that were supposed to be answered (i.e. is viola amy? who is nightmare? What happened to Cassandra? etc.) questions that should have been answered in game weren't for some odd reason. we shouldn't have to wait about a year for some book only a few people can get their hands on to understand what may be happening. but i'm sure you guys get what i'm saying. and this isn't just an issue with SC. (the writing issue, not the waiting for a book issue) can't us fighting game fans get a good story as well as good gameplay? i know that story isn't the primary concern for fighting games but if you're going to do it then you should at least do it well.

Because companies that make fighting games know that a good story doesnt sell, good mechanics, characters, and online are what sell games.

And flashiness if you're MvC.

but that is no excuse for making a blatantly bad story. like i said, you can put less attention to something than others and it still turn out good. they hardly put anything into SCV's story mode to begin with but it's the story that is atrocious, not how they went about how they presented it.

The game was rushed. That's why a lot of things were not in the game. It's also the reason why the story mode was 1/4th complete.

Despite being rushed, SCV is still the best out of the series and one of the most fun and balanced fighting games there is, even though the single player was lacking. I to this day still have no complaints about it. Could you imagine what the game would have been like if they decided to work on the story first and then the gameplay, and we would be left with a broken system/gameplay and barebones online *cough* SCII *cough*

looks at the word "balanced." then looks at the viola pic at the top of the page. hmmmm -_-

Comparing her to other tier differences in fighting games, like smash (Fox, Falco, Metaknight) and PS: All Stars (Kratos....) for example, she doesn't break the game anywhere near as much. You won't find a more balanced FG than SCV.

Viola was just a blip. And actually, Viola having ToD's is completely our fault. Had people not complained Viola was too weak, 2B+K BE would not have been buffed, B+K BE would not have been buffed, and neither would have 66B (which through this buff guaranteed 66A+B). But yeah, SC5 IS one of the most balanced fighters out there (and is the most balanced of all the SC games).

All Viola buffs were fine except: 66A increased damage (14→24) & SET B+K[BE] increased damage (7,3→37,13) because those two changes are the most important changes because their the main contributors for her ToD combos. I agree SCV is very well balanced.

I'd absolutely love sc3's character equipment, voices, hairstyles, as well as sciv's stuff (hey, why not scv too!) in one game. I'd love having some more balanced pitch changers without it echoing and sounding robotic.

honestly I would just like more customization options, more stuff, and for the created characters to look like the canon characters.

anti-aliasing would just be the icing on the cake for me, :sc5pat1:
I'm such a graphics geek sorry!

i've always wondered why do the main SC cast get those dramatic close ups in their intro and victory poses. why can't CaS have that? and i wish there was an option to have the CaS characters also interact with each other. have like a "Rival/Ally" option and under that you would choose things like "sister, brother, mother, father, pupil, friend, loved on, etc." and just add in a few extra voicing for each option. that would make me love CaS infinitely much more.

I think we should settle for having the camera angles corrected. That and being able to access all the poses with a button hold like in the old days. That other part could just get weird. How about a variation of SC3's elemental personality feature? That or simply good, evil, and neutral/pacifist etc. The old CaS in SC4 used to react differently to various opponents.
