DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

The button delay on this game is really annoying at times and can often get you killed. And why no infinite spawns anymore? I mean wouldn't this affect farming for shards or rare weapons?

yeah i've actually had times where i press start and the menu takes a sec or two to pop-up. i've also had a time in the huntsmen's copse where i was about to die from poison and i couldn't open the menu fast enough to survive. i think FROM stopped the infinite spawning to help out the newcomers a bit, it sucks but it's definitely helped a friend of mine in the early stages. you could buy the hood (don't remember the name of it) from the merchant that appears in forest of fallen giants for a 1000 i think. it boosts item discovery a bit, so it could help with farming.

what's the point of the mini white soapstone? i haven't used it yet, but i assume it's the same as the normal one just that they're there for a shorter time.

Bonfire Ascetic respawns enemies whose spawn count has ended, but also puts them in NG+ mode so, a bit better for item grinding, at least.

Also my first SS&SS netted me a Channeller's Trident so y'all can bask in my glow.

awesome, been saving my ascetic for the right time. probably gonna use it in an area where enemies drop some form of titanite. what's SS&SS?

The gargoyle fight is insane on solo. Tho their easier to space out since there not really that aggresive compared to their DS1 counterparts, fighting 3 at the same time (can be up to 4 at max) is really annoying since it can be hard to get a hit in. I had to get 1 white phantom to help me out with that boss. What bosses are giving you guys a rough time? For some reason the lost sinner is giving me some fits....

i had trouble with the chariot for the longest time, but that mostly due my impatience lol. the toughest one i've encountered so far is skorpioness najka. i kept getting grabbed and by the time i was able to heal the toxic i was already dead, that plus her magic made her pretty tough for me.

i really need to farm the gyrm so that i can upgrade some weapons. i've had my +5 rapier for way too long now.

The more you know eh?
Oh and, Small Smooth & Silky Stone is SS&SS.

Hardest boss so far is Pursuer, but that's because I haven't had a lot of time with the game yet =/

it's scary but parry him and go for one of the ballistas. it does like 98% of his health. parrying him isn't easy, but it's one of the better ways to kill him (that and bro-ops).

so i've been doing a bit of PvP and stun-locking has kinda been an issue. i haven't been on the wrong end of a stun-lock yet, but most of my wins are just baiting R1 spam and stunning with my rapier. granted i know adaptability and poise affect this, but there's no real way to tell if my opponents have been leveling up ADP at all. if anything, this forces people to be A LOT more careful in pvp.

.

I ended up just grabbing a Bastard Sword, getting it to +5 and spanking him with it repeatedly. Now there're like, a thousand areas I can go to so that's exciting. Also, how easy was Dragonrider?

I've not gotten into PVP yet but, yeah I'm gonna get myself some decent poise first.

the next area would probably be heide tower. dragonrider is pretty easy.

How 'bout that boss in the Cathedral of Blue? Eh?
Are you talking about "Old dragonslayer" or something else? Because old dragonslayer was easy for me but my hardest bosses so far have been the ruin sentry boss (fuck that fight on solo seriously) and the gargoyle fight. Im not looking forward to the royal rat vanguard fight soon.....

that shit is awful!

so i've been trying to unlock the secrets of the mundane infusion along with @Seran Zealot , and the results so far have been....weird. i made an un-upgraded dagger mundane and it looked promising. halved it's damage (from 55 to 27) but increased its bonus damage (from +65 to +100) so overall it went from 120dmg to 127dmg. next i tested it out on my ricard's rapier+10. the results were far from what i expected! overall it went from 320dmg to 180dmg.

this leads me to believe mundane will benefit weapons with low parameter bonuses (like C, D, E) rather than ones with really high bonuses like the ricard's rapier example it had an S rank. so now when i get back on, i'm gonna try and upgrade a weapon with a low bonus rank and see how mundane affects it. i figure mundane has to have something going for it since gavlan buys them from you for 100 souls while he buys the other stones for less than 500.

Oh I wasn't implying he was hard at all. I just love that boss :') Nice little homage.
And yeah, the Ruin Sentinels were ANNOYING as all hell. The boss in Belfry Luna is going to be a doosey once I finally get around to trying to fight them again.
