DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

That set is called the Heide Knight Armor set. The Heide knights drop it but only on NG+ so you have to beat the game or use bonfire ascetics to get it. I made a sorcerer as a second file, you can get the Hexer set which is pretty cool. You need 20 faith and int and you have to talk to a certain NPC.

Anyone wanna trade me the set?

The mummies are easy dude, get behind and wreck 'em. Only reason I'm bringing Lucatiel with me is for her questline.
I didn't get the Bastille Key, so I had to either run past all the mummies in four feet of water or take them one at a time. It took me a few tries to figure out where they all were and I'm in light armor so they blew my ass up a few times.

I'm stuck at Sinner's Rise because I'm trying to keep Lucatiel alive in the boss fight. I've just bought the Redeye Ring though so hopefully it'll let me control LS's aggro a little better.
it is also a higher level area imo because when i first tried going through there, it was a bitch and a half just to take out 1 of those giant zombie things. when i came back later with some better gear, the area was pretty easy aside from the boss of course.

Yo is there any way to kill the invisible guys in the shaded forest?
since you can't lock onto them, you pretty much have to use slashing weapons swords, greatswords, etc. trying to kill 'em with thrusting weapons like rapiers (like how i first tried to do) went awfully.

Just beat Sinner's Rise and I'm in the Shaded Wood and have no idea where to go.
like stevenA said just head through the foggy area and watch out for the invisible guys since they're untargetable. you can also go left and head towards the castle drangleic, but its a pretty tough area.

Oh the exploding guys, sorry I thought you mean the machete wielding mummy guys. Yeah the boomers are assholes.

Yeah those yellow demon things. I've been luring them into the small corridor, baiting their punch and giving them an overhead swing. Works kinda well but, really slow...

A Lost Sinner. She a ho. She ain't too hard but keeping Lucatiel alive is... Well.

In other news I just beat up the Chariot. It was really, really annoying and hardly worth it for the area afterwards. I'm guessing covenant guy though?

I think in order to get all the items and collectibles in this game you must reach NG++++. Some boss soul weapons require 3-4 of the same boss soul to get the weapons for it.

if you use bonfire ascetics you put the area from NG to NG+ (and NG+ to NG++ etc). the only bosses i've done this to have been scorpioness najka, the flexile sentry, and both rat bosses (vanguard and authority). and like @Le_Bello said, ascetics also reset item locations.

i udse an ascetic on the sentry to get another of his weapons since his soul gives 3 weapons. i used one on both the rat bosses because i was in the rat cov at the time of it and i actually used 2 on najka's area because of all the twinkling titanites and petrified dragon bones that appear there.

Well I'm in a pickle. I'm nearly out of Effigies and I have no way of getting more, but besides that...

I have no real clue what weapon to use. I started off using a broadsword and leveled it up and it wasn't bad. I picked up a bastard sword and leveled it up and tried it out too and it wasn't bad, but not really what I was looking for. I tried out the Heide's Knight Sword and that wasn't too shabby, either, but the damage was really meh and it scales in 3 different stats so its hard to keep up with it. All in all, I'm not fond of any of the greatswords and most of the straight swords I've used have felt kinda meh to me. Nothing's really clicking.

I'm also still running around in the basic starting gear and haven't found any really nice or interesting armors. Alva's, Knight's, and Elite Knight's are all the same and kinda boring. Drangleic doesn't feel all that interesting either. Having ventured through Forest, Heide's, Wharf and Huntsman, I'm hoping to find something that'll fit into some kind of build, but its been pretty hard so far.

As far as builds are concerned, I decided to pump up my stamina to 20 pretty early and its worked out really well. Strength and Adaptability are the next two highest stats, with STR being 20 and ADP being 18. I've bumped up Vigor to boost my carrying weight a bit which has been mildly helpful, but nothing substantial. Dex is at 11 and everything else remains at base, I'm around level 51 now and I'm not sure where to take my stats now. Since I can't find a weapon I'm comfortable with, and I'm not sure whether I should take Faith and Attunement up to learn some magic or something. I feel like I'm not in a very good spot.

Same deal with my Sorcerer class. Only its melee stats remain at their base level and its Intelligence and Faith are close to equal at 20 (Trying to build a hexer). I'm wondering if I should raise my melee stats some to use that Notch Whip in Huntsmans Copse. I'm seem to run out of spells very quickly.

if you feel iffy about your stat spread later on try to obtain a soul vessel. the easiest and quickest one is by talking to cale. cale's in the forest of giants in a little cave. go to the 2nd BF in the forest (cardinal tower or something like that) and go down the ladder. head to the path with the giant tree root ramp and fall down, make sure you're at enough health to take the bit of fall damage. after that just follow the trail and you'll meet cale and he'll give you the house key (the key to the mansion in majula). explore around there and you'll get a soul vessel. bring it to the 3 ladies in red in things betwixt and give it to her.

kinda sucks that you've made it to copse without finding something that sticks with you. to be honest, i'd really just stick to one of your upgraded weapons and keep upgrading it. the bastard sword is pretty good, only slightly worse than the claymore but you can't playmore with the claymore until you give mcduff the dull ember. my recommendation for a good weapon is a rapier, mace, and pretty much any greatsword.

armor's never really been a big deal so early on, especially now with the nerf to poise. if it makes you feel any better i'm still running around with just my starting cleric outfit and i'm level 64 at the moment. if your faith and intelligence are high enough to talk to felkin you can get his outfit and staff without killing him. the only especially useful part is headpiece since it increases spell uses.

and for your hexer guy i would put at least 13Str and 15Dex so that you can use the blue flame sword. it's a sword you get in the undead crypt and its R2 lets you cast sorceries. it also has either an A or a B scaling with Int and doesn't scale with any other stat. i'd also stay away from trying to be equal with your Int and Fth since you won't really be able to use the better hexes unless you lean more to one side or use a bunch of spices on them.

I've met Felkin, he won't give me squat.

EDIT: Managed to score the Heide Greathelm (bucket helmet) and the Heide leggings. Just need chest piece and gloves. Anyone want to trade?

For Felkin I think you need 20 in INT and FAITH, that's what my partner has and it's worked out, unless there's some other requirements?

Sucks that you didn't like any of the weapons you've found - Are larger swords your kinda thing? I've stuck with the Bastard Sword exclusively, but the Royal Swordsman in Lost Bastille drop a Greatsword (looks a bit like a flamberge but has a different name) that's supposed to be pretty decent?

Also, however did you get that Heide Armour? I've been running around in Alva Armour with Drangleic Leggins and Drangleic Gauntlets, so a change would be nice.
Oh and the explorer's blue cap/monocle thing because it's swanky.

yeah i don't remember the exact requirements, but to talk to felkin you have to have some amount of equal Int and Fth. also am i the only who really loves the alva armor? i kinda swap back and forth bewtween the alva and the faraam sets.

I think you can only get Heide's armor in NG+ but you could use a bonfire asectic I guess... Certain weapons and armor you can only get anyway in NG+ and does anyone like the boss weapons in this game? so far I dont like their scaling.

No you're not the only one mate. My favorite armor in the game so far but getting it to a +10 seems like a nightmare for me lol I also like vengar's armor or ehh however you spell it but only drawback is its very heavy so boooo

the later area boss weapons have some crazy scaling. the duke's dear freja (2-headed spider) gives you a curved sword that gets an S dex scaling after a few upgrades and the rapier it can also give you is pretty good and also goes through shields. the ancient dragon soul gives you a curved GS with an S in dex as well, but to get his soul you gotta use the ashen mist heart on a crystal in freja's arena. overall i've been liking them, but i haven't got a chance to check out the more strength-based weapons yet.

my only real problem is that petrified dragon bones are annoying to obtain =/

Joke's on you, I killed every bastard I found and opened every chest there wielding nothing but my trusty rapier and golden eagle shield. (I think it was the eagle shield.)
I heard that From made it so every time you kill one, two more spawn. There has to be a cap though, because I was able to run throughout the area freely afterwards. They respawn after reating though, I believe.
