DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

Hey dark soul buddies im debated on this...i been to the dark souls forums and most people have been giving me the same answer and im still not sure if this stat is worth it or not. For my dex character i have 36 adaptability on him and im SL125 so is it worth having high adp or no? Because right now im thinking about changing it because i don't really see a difference in having an extra I frame with high Adp
ADP is over rated. My builds never go past 16 (unless I'm doing a mundane build) and I've never had a problem dodging anything. 36 is way too much in that skill. It's basically RES from DS1 except there's a reason to put at least a few points into it thanks to Agility being a thing. And if you're a caster there is even less of a reason to put points into it as ATT gives you Agility also.

Hmm i see well good thing you can reset your stats in this game haha.

so my faith guy has pretty much changed into a magic-hating tanker. i use profound still, great magic barrier, and magic rebel's greatshield (thing gets 100%magic def, 75%physical, and 90% everything else). haven't really figured out a weapon to use but i've been playing around with mace of the insolent since it doubles as a chime).

Rebel's greatshield is my secondary shield just because of its stats. I never thought about infusing it but I guess it's time.

Just curious, guys, which level more or less were you when you defeated Lost Sinner? I'm about level 60, I have a 100 damage reduction shield and the guy stills rapes me hard every time. I'm a melee, so light in the zone is not a problema.

I would use rebel's greatshield but the problem is i dont wanna pour 29 str just to use it and dex characters pretty much don't utilize heavy shields so yeah lol

I gave up on lost sinner and summoned a phantom to help me. Then I helped 2 other people to defeat him. I was so blind...16 hours in the game and I discover now helping people online is the not risky way of fast quick farming...and I killing mobs all this time ;_;

If you want fast souls PvP is the way to go. I've earned upwards of 700k souls in an hour just standing at the Blue Sentinel castle drawbridge killing blue phantoms. But yeah if you don't like PvP helping to kill the four great souls or the last boss is great for souls.

Its my first DS ever, so in my first playthrough I want to focus in PVE to learn the game mechanics, Im not ready to fight other players.

So I made it all the way to Aldia's Keep, go me! Finished off the Rotten, scored Lucatiel's gear and sword (why didn't anyone tell me it was a dex-based claymore? She wields like a scimitar in game) and even managed to get Veldstadt's awesome armor and mace.

So I redid my build a bit to try it out. It didn't fair so well in PvP, but I kinda liked the idea of a strength-based Hexer, but with so many stats to really spend on, its kinda hard to make this work... any ideas? His gear is super-heavy, even with Royal Soldier's Ring +1 and 20 Vitality I was still encumbered.

Either way, I redid my stats again - using up my final soul vessel to do so (I wonder if I can find another one?) and tweak my build a bit more towards the Dex side and pulled some points from strength, ADP, VIT and put them all into Faith, Dex, ATT, Vigor, and End. I now have 16 strength, but 30 dex and 48 Faith, 20 ATT, etc. at level 121. So I can now cast Sunlight Spear, Blade, and Great Lightning Blade. All pretty cool. Even better? I finally managed to get all the pieces of the Heide's armor set. So I'm sitting pretty, but...

I'm kinda unsatisfied with my build. It's a bit on the heavy side, so depending on my weapon, I get the heavy rolls, but this overall build feels a lot like the one I used in Dark Souls 1, and I was pretty happy with it in Dark Souls 1, but I wanted to try something completely different. I had this idea of trying to be a sort of phantom-like, dark swordsman or something similar, but hex spells are pretty difficult to get the requirements for, and its getting really hard to level up at this point. With only 4 Int in my stats, its going to take quite a few points to bring it up, and over several hundred thousand souls to do so.

And yet, I still can't win at PvP, I haven't scored a single win yet. And I'm not sure how strong my damage will be. And I have yet to get summoned as a Blue Sentinel... I'm not sure if/when it'll happen.

Pvp is a pretty hit or miss thing for me. Unless I decide not to duel with honor it's tough to make it out without nearly dying yourself
. I kind of hate my build but I dig my classy dex rapier/dagger user more than anything else. It's always been my thing. I just need to learn to parry the world online

Dex builds are unfortunately rather weak at this point in time. When people are running around with the infinite stun lock caestus, Crystal Magic Weapon Moonlight Greatsword, and Katanas with the ghost range the size of a mountain it can be hard to use a build that takes more than one hit to win. My suggestion would be to use some point into INT until you can use Resonant Weapon and grab a Blacksteel Katana from the Iron Keep (the smaller knight enemies drop them randomly) and infuse it with Dark at McDuff and cast Resonant Weapon on it. It'll have and S rank in Dex scaling and I believe it gets A in Dark which scales with Faith. Once you cast Resonant Weapon on it you'll be doing around 600 damage per swing.

As for the Blue Sentinels it pretty much doesn't work. You have to wear the Sentinel ring and someone else has to be using the Way of the Blue ring in order for you to get summoned. I've never been summoned to aid anyone who's getting invaded through this as from what I can tell no one joins the way of the blue.

I've been ganked by Blue Sentinels twice in my time playing. It is not fun, they usually spawn right on top of the apostles and you are then gangbanged till death.

Lol. I keep hanging around the Doors of Pharros just to get summoned as a gray phantom. It's kind of hilarious making them run away.

What was even FUNNIER was, like a week ago, I got invaded while on Belfry Luna. I was right at the part where those dogs are at the bottom of the ladder along with that treasure. So, the red phantom spawns down there. I wanted the treasure and I play fighting games, so I just camped the top of the ladder. We stood around for about 15 minutes because I didn't use the binos to get an aim on him because of the angle. FINALLY, I realized I could just auto-aim him even at that angle then, 2 shots, and ded. lololol

I want another person to invade like that so I can set up a wall of lingering flame and then run like a bish.
