The Small Cheez

[09] Warrior
Howdy there! Been lurking for a while and decided to join. I'd like to start getting serious with this game and I figured I should start here. I don't really have a main but I prefer pat, voldo, maxi, and astaroth. I'm not all that great (50 something percent) but I'm trying to get better. I have a LOT of trouble against zwei, hilde, and viola so if I could get matchup help against them that would fantastic! I'm on xb and ps3. I don't know how to end posts :)

That ending works man. Welcome to the forums, check out the soul arenas and if you're looking for people to play you can check the regional matchmaking board for live competition or the online sub-forum for well... Online competition, lol. You might be able to find somebody to mentor you in either place, so that's another route you can take,

As for personal observations, nice avatar, loved Bastion. I often imitate Rucks's narration as I go about my daily activities, lol. Did you restart events or move forward? Moved forward personally.

I moved forward. It seemed like a waste to throw the whole adventure away just for events to repeat themselves. Also saved Zulf cuz I'm a softie

Cool same man. I tend to play light side/paragon what have you in every game. Besides, it just seemed like what The Kid would do after all the lives that had already been lost. I actually thought it was pretty cool the way they handled the save Zulf scene.

A Tip To End Posts; Say Something Offensive Like "You Suck" Or "Mage Has Tiny Eyes And Edits Everyones Post Cause He Didnt Like What You Said" Either Of Those Will Work.

Welcome To 8way.

I would love to have some matches with good players just to see where I stand. If anyone has the time hit me up on xb or psn. I think I'm gonna main patroklos so anyone with pat knowledge should come beat up on me for a while. I'm free every day after 8 pm EST.

About your concern with ZWEI, Hilde and Viola.

Fortunately, not too many people use ZWEI and Hilde. The few who do either are not very good or completely dominate you. They aren't very popular characters. It is a good idea to find one, put your feelings aside and learn as much as you can. Use Replay Data when fighting online to study their style and find where you're going right and wrong.

As far as Viola goes, she is arguably the second most complicated character in the game. You will have a difficult time training to play as Viola until you get better with your execution skills. She's not impossible to learn, but she is definitely not easy to learn. The best chance you have of getting better against Viola is to play against a Viola player over and over until you begin to see patterns, and I would also suggest looking at tournament videos on YouTube and watch good players fight against Viola.

I see you like Patroklos, Voldo, Maxi and Astaroth.

Patroklos is a simple character to learn so I would suggest starting with him. He is a short range character, but he is pretty fast, not the fastest, and he is designed to punish. Just because he is simple doesn't mean he is weak. I've seen live streams of very good Patroklos players dominating others.

Maxi and Voldo are tricky characters and can be frustrating to play against because their styles are based on tricking and mixing up your opponent. Less people use Voldo so your advantage is better with him. Their weapons may look short, but they have surprisingly good range.

Astaroth is a powerful character with a lot of range, but against better players he is too slow to use. His style is based on grabs and long range attacks, so if someone gets in close and keeps breaking your grabs then you're in trouble. I have seen myself someone who has mastered just guards and someone used Astaroth against him and ended up losing badly, because almost all of his moves are slow enough to just guard. If you like powerful long range spacing characters, I would suggest Nightmare, who has amazing speed in certain circumstances.

Welcome to 8wayrun, enjoy your stay.
