So what do you guys think the story is so far? With the revelation the Kilik is the main character of SCVI, and Xianghua is in the game, both in the place of their successors, I can imagine there being some kind of time travel deal going on (especially with his relationship to Edge Master, who can manipulate time apparently). Maybe there will be some Astral Chaos deal where Kilik tries to set right what once went wrong. Makes sense.
I think Kilik is just a better choice to be the protagonist of the Soul Story simply because his personality fits it more so in my opinion. It may be unrelated but I think those first 8 characters should be the focus of the main story collectively simply because I think they all have a chemistry together the lore gives them that they could play off of. Tira vs. Xianghua. Talim vs. Zasalamel. Kilik & Sigfried vs. Nightmare. I could see it. Though I don't know how much influence I'd like Astral Chaos to have in the story though. It sounds like it could go into MK territory with the different realms of existence which might be too big. I don't have issue with it but I don't want a world cataclysm like SCIV again. I am fine with SCV's balance with it.

As for setting, if they did decide to fit it in-between 4-5 they could do something to show a better conceptualization of the events that lead to Lexia & Xiba's birth (though I'm not asking for them to be canon. If they are just keep them in word only like Hilde's kids). They could very well introduce the Ming General Xianghua is engaged to as Kilik's rival even. Not likely but they could do that.

Lets just be patient. Remember that it could easily be revealed December 15, as well or even in the tournament, like it was speculated.

The only tournament that'd line up is NEC which Namco has historically given a hard miss. It seems like an unlikely venue for a game announcement.

Lmaoooo tournament, watch Namco be like, yeah so we're announcing SC6 and to kick things off the devs are gonna have a quick tournament showing it off

Didn't Daishi come to it that one time? In any case, there is absolutely no way they are announcing anything at NEC.

The sad thing is that even though I crave this game so much, I will probably only play it for about 1 month to 1.5 months tops before playing it sporadically. Such is the fate of a casual fighting game fan

I just hope it doesn't come back wrong. Thank goodness they've already gotten Lost Swords outta their system, and have acknowledged the strong fan feedback.

And thank goodness Hoshino has learned from the mistakes in direction of his predecessor.
