Whatever they do to Raph, I’m sure it’ll be a whole new moveset which will ultimately lead to him being at the bottom of the barrel.

(Repeatedly) Sad times for the great, left handed fencer.

:sc2rap1:
I hope so..imo he just felt more like a incomplete character as the series progressed..I pretty much quit him after sc2/3..He just became a boring character for me.

I never played the earlier SC games competitively, but Raphael seems to be underrated in SCV for no good reason. He has a good speed+range combination, fast pokes, great throws, excellent BE's, a godlike guard bursting game, and an i12 CE. He only lacks horizontal mids and ring out options, that's it. He isn't low tier, trust me.

Those are important you know. I'd argue he lacks high horizontals too. Prep is also terrible and the only good brave edge he has is off of 6BB and 3KB BE is a gimmick outside of whiff punishment. His guard burst game also isn't good because he lacks the ability to contain movement properly in order to make you block in the first place.

I see what you did there.

His horizontals in general are lacking, but as for the rest, I couldn't disagree more. His prep mixups are viable and a 6BB on hit is basically a free SE entry, which also leads to mixups. His 33K BE is +8 on block, which gives you frame traps or grab opportunities and his prep K BE is guaranteed after a prep 4 GI. Raph can still deal with stepping opponents so that doesn't affect his guard burst game negatively.

Actually, his high horizontals are decent enough: a safe AA with good range, 66A that covers a lot of range and puts you right into the opponent's face, and 22A that is +10 on CH, which also gives you frame traps.

Not sure if this has been brought up, but the line "Just as shadows are cast where there is light, history hides away more than one truth" in the first trailer is actually old, and was used in some SCV trailers

That's interesting. I wonder what it meant to them back then.

There were some bits about each character's soul I wish they would bring back. Setsuka's: What lies in her soul is devotion. Zasalamel's: What lies in his soul is anguish.
