Better show all main roster chracters officially (Aka Cervantes and Raph), before even thinking about showing DLC content again. But at least I think that they need to show silhouettes or even their arts before launch... It's hard to buy something that I doesn't even know what the content is.

I love how Cervantes & Raph are blurred out in the Modes Trailer and Namco accidently leak Cervy again. Did anyone notice that every character is going to have 7 weapons and the list goes up to 149? 7 x 21 = 147. That means Inferno, Hwang & Aeon(Lizardman) might be the bonus characters.

My theory:
Maybe Hwang and Aeon will be like Abel and Decapre in SF5, they have their own moveset but they are not completed, so maybe they will appear in story mode like a NPC with unique move set (but not completed or balance), so 2 weapons for them is enough.

Namco will consider if they keep developing and completing them base on the community demand

Argument that Hwang and Lizardman actually are in, or, if not them, that there are in fact two more characters after Cervantes and Raphael.

So, there's 149 weapons, shown by the trailer showing off museum mode. This is enough for 21 characters to have 7 weapons, with 2 left over, or 18 characters to have 8 weapons, with 5 left over. Including Cervantes and Raphael, we have 19 characters (not counting Geralt), so it can't possibly be the latter, even if having an excess of 5 weapons wasn't already pretty weird, while having an excess of 2 can be either two characters who only have one weapon, or one character who only has 1P/2P weapon (like Dampierre).

So, who would be those 21 characters?
1) Blank Slot (Hwang?)
2) Siegfried
3) Zasalamel
4) Nightmare
5) Azwel
6) Xianghua
7) Maxi
8) Sophitia
9) Astaroth
10) Ivy
11) Yoshimitsu
12) Kilik
13) Grøh
14) Cervantes
15) Talim
16) Mitsurugi
XX) Geralt
17) Taki
18) Blank Slot (Lizardman?)
XX) Creation
19) Seong Mi-na
20) Raphael
21) Voldo
XX) Random

I'm not counting Geralt, because it's likely that he's our Dampierre-type, not having an array of weapons. He may have a "2P" weapon, though.
Another possibility is that Azwel doesn't have alternate weapons, either, and the 21st character is including Tira.

there's also the possibility of the 21 known roster having 7 weapons while inferno having 2...

It wouldn't make much sense to be able to unlock Soul Edge weapons for everyone, but (and I'm assuming you're referring to your Inferno alternate being Elysium theory) not Soul Calibur weapons for everyone, though. Unless some characters have Soul Edge weapons, and other characters have Soul Calibur weapons, and maybe some have Soul Edge & Soul Calibur hybrid/dual-wield weapons, like SoulCalibur IV, but this would require Inferno to have two separate movesets, one to use Soul Edge weapons only, and the other to use Soul Calibur weapons only, while both movesets would maybe use the hybrid/dual-wield weapons, and that just doesn't seem likely at all.

Did you intend to put this in the other thread?

There must be SE variants for eveyone, even the dual wielders like Talim if Inferno is indeed the mimic like we've all assumed. I'm a little bit concerned now because if he isn't and they decide to drag in someone like Edgemaster, giving him unique weapon designs and making him the mimic while they have a perfectly good model to use Inferno for that... i'll be irritated.

No, that message was for @PSY just above it. I didn't quote it, because it was literally the post just above and on the same page, so I didn't think it was necessary, just like I'm not quoting you right now. I don't think we'll get Edge Master at all, personally, that our only mimic will be Inferno, and that he will use Soul Edge weapons. Until we see a Soul Calibur variant in the same slot as Ivy's Soul Edge variant, that is my assumption.

Maybe the inferno variants don't get used by the cast?
The two for inferno could also simply be 1P/2P variants.
His weapons could have a particle effect/hit effect/weapon trail difference for 1P/2P but no other visual change and still be soul edge variants that the main cast can't use.

Oh, as far as i knew, i was the only one with the Elysium alt theory.

Elysium's variants weren't technically used by the cast, so that's possible, but I feel like with them wanting to make this game more like SoulCalibur II, everyone having a Soul Edge variant fits that and gives Inferno a full weapon selection, killing two birds with one stone. It's mostly that Ivy has never had a Soul Edge of her own before, except for SoulCalibur II, but that doesn't count, since everyone had a (Complete) like she did. She had Soul Calibur in SoulCalibur IV, but she's never had Soul Edge all on her own before.

You know, you're right. That's my mistake. Sorry for the confusion. I couldn't think of another reason why Inferno would have two sets of weapons.

There is precedent for that happening, though. In SCII, every character had a Soul Edge weapon, but only a few had a Calibur weapon.

That's not quite the same, though. Inferno in SoulCalibur II didn't use those Soul Edge (Complete) weapons. He arguably should have, but those were just tossed in for extra flair with the quest of pretty much everyone getting a Soul Edge shard, is the way I always saw it. These were hyper-designed Soul Edges, while this Soul Edge that Ivy has looks a lot more like a normal Soul Edge, using the design motif from SoulCalibur V.

I see if they put more slots, it being on the bottom next to the ones beside random and the other slot (CAS?). since it wouldn't really obscure much of the character model as opposed to putting them on the other rows. Would make sense if they hadn't actually put the dlc slots in already. Granted Okubo did say after Azwel, that there were "not that many left" sooooo I'm assuming 2-4 more characters but who knows. They honestly just might reveal who's in the season pass as TGS like how Tekken did it with EVO.

The proposition that Inferno and Tira would occupy the remaining two empty spots on the center square of the selection screen still gives me pause. The left side of the roster seems entirely occupied by heroic characters, or at least characters that are in opposition to Soul Edge. The only dubious occupant is maybe Mitsurugi, since he's mostly self-serving, but he's the Ryu of the series. The pure fighter who just wants to beat people up and get stronger. It's portrayed mostly nobly. There are some good-aligned characters in the center and even on the right side as well, but that seems to be more of a case of having an imbalance of good/evil characters and those characters needing to go somewhere.

Anyway, one of the missing slots is on the left side, and both Tira and Inferno are quite clearly aligned with Soul Edge, so the placement of either one of them there would throw the most consistent of these nebulous "roster rules" askew.

However, that doesn't discredit the possibility of the right side slot going to Tira and the left belonging the first of the three other DLC characters. I just don't believe that spot would go to either Tira or Inferno.

All of this is why I believe:
Code:
     Hwang Siegfried Zasalamel Nightmare Azwel
     Xianghua Maxi Sophitia Astaroth Ivy
     Yoshimitsu Kilik Inferno Grøh Cervantes
DLC Talim Mitsurugi Geralt Taki Lizardman DLC
DLC CaS Seong Mi-na Raphael Voldo Random Tira
