Thank you kindly! I'm somewhat familiar with your amazing CaS as I believe I've seen your incredibly accurate Predator on the sub reddit and also that really cool alien with the UFO on Happy Colour's website - I also used your guide (I think it was yours?) here in order to add pupils and irises to the colossus and shapeshifter races in order to create snake eyed Medusa up there. ^ I'd love a link to your bug creations if you happen to have one handy? =)

Why thx ! Funny you mention pred since i posted some new cool ingame pics of him and Mando over in my thread (check it out), i also will post references to my insect CAS there in order not to put some of my stuff in your just started thread, they can be seen in motion in some of my compilation vids too, on my youtube channel (Vilarcane, easy to find :)
Yes, i did explain the pupil glitch and was the first to use it on shapeshifters, my most famous subreddit post is actually Nefertiti using that very trick, i'll post the link in my thread too in a bit...
You are using a number of interesting techniques in your CAS, and yup i got my page up on Nate's site but it's kinda buggy on xbox when i try to look others stuff up it sometimes won't load pics proper.
Anyways, welcome and keep posting !

Thanks, I will be sure to take a look through your thread and will update this one at some point soon! And yeah, Sega fangirl for life, Ulala is goals. ^_^
Seems make-up is one of your forte too :)
Oh and i love you avatar, big fan of SpCh5, Uh la la !

Haha, yeah I'm obsessive about makeup, it's usually where I start to get a feeling for the CaS, even if it's not visible like on the Mantis girl, haha!

Great details. Love the ice queen. ❤

Thank you, she was created for a winter contest on the r/soulcaliburcreations subreddit, and I won! =D

C'est magnifique ! Perfect love birds for my yakuzarugi lol...you can see him on my sccreations gallery if you don't remember why :)
Thanks! Aha, I just found him...It's the head sets, right? xD Your gallery is a total blast, love the far left-of-center way of thinking about things, so much unique stuff to look at in there. D=

This Lady and her album dedicated to mental health awareness really hit me hard in 2020, and her Stupid Love comeback single was one of the year's very few highlights for me, hope you guys enjoy, here's :-

This is incredibel! i love the concepts and the way they look otherworldly.

Just in time for Halloween, here's Galina, she's a life size, porcelain, clockwork ballet dancing doll! At present she appears to have been possessed by an evil spirit, and despite varying futile attempts to stop her rampage (visible from her missing eye and the cracks in her visage) she continues to evade capture and continues her deadly dance seeped in the blood of anyone she deems to be a foe. Watch out for this one!

Gorgeous! Brilliant concept, good execution! The winding key is a beautiful little cherry-on-top detail. I like the use of the black texture placement on the porcelain-white surface contours to try to create the impression of unlit negative space: I attempted something quite similar with one of my earliest SCVI creations, D-fective, so I know how difficult it can be to pull off in a fashion that looks believable from most angles under most lighting conditions; incidentally, it's a style choice of course, but with a model like this, I'd love to see it under the late light and night-time visual conditions. I've also done the missing eye a few times, with most success here and here, but I think it's particularly suited to this design of yours, and the extra little cracks around the circumference that you were able to add really help to sell the effect--even your choice of eyeshadow helps to sell the sense of dimensionality in the shape around the cracked-in eye-socket. There's lots of these quality little choices throughout this piece--good show!

Thank you for all your kind words! I actually created this one because I wanted to be able to create something detailed using automaton - I've never actually used this race before because I was put off by the lack of options available, but lay awake thinking about how I could pull something like this off for most of last night. xD Looking at your 3 examples I'd say you definitely nailed it each time you've used it on a CaS, I particularly like all the detail on the necromancer - I'm not entirely sure how to do texture quite like that on CaS yet! I should probably take more pictures utilising different light levels - I tend to try and take everything as cleanly as possible as I've gotten very used to Reddit collages, I might edit one into this post though as I took a few of gameplay post upload. I used the fish sticker of all things to try and give the effect of cracked porcelain and used a pocket sticker with the lipstick sticker on top to try and give the impression of a mechanical mouth.

Found them. =)

A lot of the alt races do indeed provide particular challenges in terms of a dearth of options. But they do have their niche applications. I'd say if this is your first effort in that vein, you are off to a good start!

Thank you much! I can always give you screenshots of the exact patterns and colours on the present Necromancer build, but suffice it to say that it involves a lot layering/scaling/colouring/positioning of multiple patterns (manuals over the full face default if you want maximum detail), plus a bit of subtle ExEq object manipulation. And a bit of patience too: I must have gone through a thousand permutations on the skin issues, and then back again after working out how to create an impression of the decayed out and added the exposed tooth/jawline.

Regarding the missing eyes, with Sonya I used a black-with-the-slightest-tinge-of-red apple (later a sphere) to create the impression of darkened negative space behind the eye, which I suspect you did with Galina as well, looking at the somewhat similar apperance. But with Necromancer, I took a slightly different approach, orienting a flower broach with its top surface oriented along the vertical plane and colouring the petals the colour of the deep colour of mostly unlit empty socket, hiding a decaying hole. I like the effect although I've never got it to pop quite as much as I like, and I went back and forth on using it, since it consumes an object in a build that demands a lot of them (so I have to omit grimoire/necronomicon if I want to accommodate both the missing eye and the teeth exposed by the decaying cheek). But I like the overall concept that his one side is decaying away slightly faster than the other.

Anyway, it's all just a matter of experimentation. And I'm constantly stumbling upon things while doing one build that give inspiration or future guidance for something different. For example, while trying to create various variations on the ailing/decaying/burnt/flayed/blistering skin when trying to get Necromancer right, I had occasions where I was reminded of:

Urukai (Lord of the Rings)
DLM 27.jpg

Cenonbites (Hellraiser)
DLM 36.jpg
DLM 37.jpg

Boss Nass (Yeah, I know, gotta be the worst possible option for a Star Wars character to stumble upon, but they can't all be winners!)
DLM 58.jpg

I used the fish sticker of all things to try and give the effect of cracked porcelain and used a pocket sticker with the lipstick sticker on top to try and give the impression of a mechanical mouth.
I noticed that. Another surfacing detail I liked was the pattern you used to give the impressions of a braided metal gilded imprint on the key, the kind of ornate detail you would expect on a wind-up doll device of a certain era.

@NitricZenith: I am of course happy to delete the images int he spoiler box above, if you'd rather preserve this thread exclusively for your own images. I don't want to get carried away with shop talk and step on your toes regarding your presentation here.
