Algol Combos and Tech Traps

Yo wanna bring this up again:
33B,8A+B,8A+B,22B,2A+B,22B

so like it does around the same damage as 33B,8A+B,8A+B,22B,2A+B,aB,2B and doesn't whiff as much in my experiences with it. it does more damage than using just one up bullet combos.The downside to this though is if he isn't in range to get two 8A+Bs then it won't do my next point.

As far the stun it brings them back towards Algol incredibly fast at his side. Now this kind of stun isn't shakable right? So wouldn't give him mix-up potential? Right now I'm looking at A+G_B+G,3B41236B,2A+KA+B. Anyone of them can give him like a 3/4 life damage.

Yeah, that's precisely the best way to abuse 2A+B,22B,2A+B,22B juggles.
Off 11A is also possible, but with simple pokes (BB, 1A, 2A+K, 66A etc)
 
How so off of 11A?

Granted it works, but it staggers them off into the distance into BT. . .which i use to put in safe bubble zone range.
 
yeah from my knowledge ending a combo with 22B leaves them standing. much better off doing aB, 2B for it gives you more space to shoot a crouch bubble and from then you can fill the stage with more bubbles where you can further mixup ur shit.
 
Well off of 11A,2A+B,2B,2A+b,22B they'd be knoced backwards so they'd still be in good rnge to set up bubble zoning
 
I prefer the aB, 2B than 22B. even though 22B knocks them back, a grounded opponent is always better than a standing opponent, IMO.

After downloading the latest patch, the best combos that I could get from 33B are:

33B, 8B+K - 70 dmg
33B, 4A+B, 8A+B, BT B+K - 67 dmg
33B, 4A+B, 2A+B, aB, 2B - 70 dmg
33B, 4A+B, 2A+B, aB, 11B - 72 dmg

For the last two, it seems that the 2A+B needs to be slightly delayed against some characters, otherwise it will launch them really high and the aB won't connect.
 
the overall launch height of 33B is lower than before. I used to always be able to do 6A+B, 8A+B but now it doesn't launch high enough. They really just want you to use the air throw. .

33B,4A+B,2A+B,623ABK-Time the down bullet so that it will cause a floor bounce. Then it does more damage

Also the 8A+B,BT B+K. if you do the B+K like right after the bullet hits he'll get like between 54-60 damage no clue how to time it I got 60 randomly.

11A, 2A+B, 623ABK-66
11A,2A+B,aB,2B-69
11A,2A+B,aB,11B-73
 
honestly before the patch ive been abusing the air throw like crazy with 2A+K:A+B, 8B+K. pretty pissed that im going to have to be incorporating it in my 33B juggles now.
 
Did the patch come out today? And some of my best was 6A+Bx2, and aB, 2B. But aside from that, my question is where does Algol stand now?
 
hes still gonna be solid but his combo damage wont be as massive as it use to be. you'll be dealing 70ish around ur combos now rather than his old 80ish 90ish 11A or 33B combos.
 
also im starting to end my combos off with 2A+K rather than 2B.

so its something like 11A, 2A+B, 22B, 2A+B, aB, 2A+K:A+B.

the low sweep does alot more damage and im pretty sure it can only be teched out of from the left. plus if they hold onto guard then i can add on some more damage with 8B+K air throw.

imo much better than finishing with 2B.

I don't think those connect? after the 22B, I don't think the 2A+B will reach him. I may be wrong.

yeah the combo doesnt work anymore because of the recent patch. freakn kills his combo dmg now. you'll see his combos doing 20 less dmg now. namco just has to nerf the decent characters but barely touches the top tier ones.

yeah so because of the patch 22B doesn't ground stun anymore so u cant followup with 2A+B. (btw 2A+K can be teched to the left so its not fully guaranteed like 2B) so instead ur stuck with this combo:

11A, 2A+B, aB, 2B (68 dmg WTF; his old one did 84 dmg)

also since they killed his 22B. his 90 dmg 33B combo doesnt work anymore either. to make things even worse they made his 8A+B launch the enemy backwards now. the only good followup after that is BT B+K which is weak as hell (50ish dmg). so now your stuck doing:

33B, 8B+K (70ish dmg again WTF; compare that to his old 90+ dmg 33B)

oh yeah to top things off his 33B is now unsafe. punishable by most AA's. they not only kill his combo dmg but i guess they also decided to make his launcher unsafe now.

dun know about you guys but im not happy about this patch at all. besides the glitch fixups the nerfs were pretty much unnecessary. hopefully the raph and ivy mainers feel this way too. namco should lay off the nerf bat or atleast learn how to aim it.

I have mixed feeling about the patch, but people were bitching about him being cheap. They said he was God tier before the patch. Well my asnwer to that is STFU. He was a GOOD CHARACTER FOR GOD SAKE PEOPLE!!!!!! Now as an Algol main, I didn't know his 33b is now unsafe on block, and his moves on block are suepr slow and easy to punish. Fuck u namco for fucking with Algol.

His dmg threat is weak. It was pretty much his only threat before but now its gone. I dont know who namco is trying to satisfy but its definitely not their audience. Noone even uses him online so why the nerf? If it aint broken dont try and fix it. fucks sake

Dude haven't you forgotten the amount of scrubs and noobs we have on SC 4? Those type of players would always bitch to me because of me raping them with Algol before the ptach. I got "he take no skills!!!", "He so fucking broken and cheap.", and other bullshit. And what you saying noone uses him? So me, ribu, and you don't count or soemthing? He a fucking good ass character. But in the end, let's hope the patch can make him retrun to his overlord rank again.
