I am astounded by the amount of people that believe in PSN chain mail. There are so many different ones that it's getting ridiculous. The dumbest one I've seen was a chain letter about HALO 3 coming to PS3 if Sony sees that enough people forward the PM around. It's so stupid.

Why do people believe this shit?

My thoughts exactly. I didn't believe chainletters back in 4th grade, and I still don't.

I've also gotten the Halo 3 one. I even got one stating that all chainletters are fake, in a chainletter. My question is, why have they recently been popping up? When playing on PSN, I never really got any of 'em. Now, I get 3a day.

I wondered this myself, I think someone just got super-bored, and a lot of people are just dumb enough to believe this stuff.

Pretty soon, people will start sending "Give me your acct info" messages from accts named SonyCustServ1.

And people will do it, and say, "How did I get scammed?"

I think it all started after PSN added the "copy/paste" function for private messages.
 
My chain letter never propagated.

"Forward this message to your friends. The message will be tracked by ninjas."

Still think it's more likely than getting $50 in the PSN store for spamming people.
 
Yeah I got one saying there will be a free version Call of Duty 6 only for playstation users if 500,000 get the message, one saying that sony will start making PSN users pay to play unless the message is sent to 500,000 people and I got that $50 in the PSN store one too. Obviously it's all fake but I just find it funny that how many people actually believe this stuff.

What's really sad is why would anyone care about a copy/paste in private messages? They basically just subverted their own efforts to improve PSN with a completely useless tool.
