Instant Backstep

I'm really sick of moves like Mitsu's 4B, Yun's/X's/Raph's 44B, Kilik's 4B+K and the like.
When i'm at :A: range and do a 4B that WHIFFS because of crap like Kilik's 4B+K, or a Yun follows a blocked 44B with another 44B, i wanna swollow my own tongue. Even though it is shakeable, if they mix up after 44B it's a real pain in the ass.

Any tips?

PS.: Don't wanna spam 66K. Not at all.

PPS.: Taki does have a 44B too and i play Mitsu too, but sadly, i'm not very good at utilizing instant backstep moves myself which only adds to the frustration. Any tips on using them would also be much appreciated.

Hi againt that I usually use bombs :) if u notive that some player use VERY often those moves
after u hit try sometimes to use 4A+B against raphael just delay a lil bit ur attacks so u can see if he use 44B or not
Then u have an other option stalker + wr is very good too Online its very hard to face em but offline u wont have any pb about those 44B expect Xianghua her 44B is very CRACKED :p

Hope this will help

PS: if u are a very good player the 6B will touch em too But offline...online its very hard the best way online is to wait :(

You can try to sidestep them or
wait and then GI them on reflex (will take some practice).

I would go with the GI option. It allows you to hold guard while waiting for the retreat move. If you're worried about the timing, start with Parries, as they're more forgiving.

I used to have big problems vs X's 44B but now i'l counter it with 3KK. I know that it is very risky since the first kick wont hit and that you take ALOT more damage if you were to fail and get hit but once you learn the timing its quet easiy i woud recommend to use the record/playback in training mode

Wouldn't 66BA or 66B:A work on most of those? I know it's good against X's 44B. I'm no Taki expert, but I have played with her a little.

Step or 4A+B B works, as well as 66A (more range than 66B). Also, they're 1BA_A6 punishable if you block Mitsu's or X's. Raph's is super safe, but his back step from his 44B isn't as huge as X's.

against 44B/4B type stuff...

3KK (2nd hit will hit)
1A (will catch them as they come back in)
4B (lands like a charm)

The Idea is to see the BB/1B/wutever that sets up into 44B. Get used to it. Frame disadv for FTW

And when would be a good moment to use Taki's 44B?
I think when you're at medium disadvantage but not very close because it doesn't retreat very much.
Or if you expect a GI although i think other slow moves like bombs, 4B, or PO A+B would work as well but with more damage.

I have some success with a well timed 22_88A. It also puts her on BT which opens up Taki's BT game.

Try this. i use it on my brother all the time and it pisses him off. Go into possession when you think your opponent may attack and use B+K (if there's another attack after it or if the attack hits a long range, do it again) and follow it up with PO B. It's not necessarily a kiliks 4B+K or a Raphael's 44B, but it can be a great way to get your opponent to miss. Plus, you go straight into possession after, so you can follow it up with B. Even if they won't attack, you can just continuously use that, and it tends to make them run after you. If that happens, you can try to keep doing it till what was explained above happens, or when they're running at you, go into Hover and use A or B.
