I'm primarily a Capcom player, but I've dabbled in MK and will now press on with SCV. Will probably be at the launch event to see what the game is like. Planning on playing Raphael and Danpierre.

SC is tackling something completely different, but it's worth the time. Dampi was an incredibly fun character in BD. Dunno how he'll be in 5, but if he's similar I'll probably be using him as a secondary as well. Raph, I've never been too fond of, but he has some interesting stuff this time around.

FYI... Dampiere will probably be banned in tournament play until he's available as DLC. I'm guessing that will happen in March, but no way to know for sure.
Cory's account doesn't work for some reason lol. I imagine we'll see him posting in a few days though. Let me know when you're playing. I think Sao and Morty are coming to my place sometime this week to learn the game, but I'm not sure exactly when. They should also be at the launch event tonight.
We'll be doing biweekly tournaments, probably at ManaWerx/Outpost Games right across from ASU West (~49th Ave & Thunderbird). I'm not sure when we'll be starting them, but they'll be the off week from Hazam's MvC/AE ranbats. I've also heard Hazam is getting SC5, so I suppose there's a chance he'll be adding it to the ranbats.
We may end up with biweekly tournaments and biweekly ranbats. We'll see...

Good games to everyone I played at the launch party last night. SC5 is definitely different than SC4, so I'm excited to see what happens at the UAT tournament when people have a chance to sit in training mode for awhile.

I had quite a bit of fun in casuals anyway. Besides, it was a close match, haha, we both had one win, both were two rounds on each other and you won by timeout on a sliver of health. :P About as close as you can get.
Jesus christ were all the characters changed though. I'm already 2000 times better than I was after just looking at the movelist and seeing where all my old tools went.

Hey all, who else put a few solid hours into SCV?
Had a blast at the launch event, and it was pretty sick I got to see a bunch of familiars there. Shout outs to (wolfwood/torgo/theron...kirby?!), Kira, and the rest of those old school smashers. Awesome to have you guys posting here too btw. Big thanks to dr dogg too for being pretty damn welcoming and encouraging the game as much as possible. As bad as the story mode that I just experienced was, I think this game is way too solid and fun to play. Seems like it's going to get a big following from people that want a serious change up from the typical capcom fare.
To coffeerox: You messing around with ezio too? I'm really liking him so far, but I haven't really found much that would make my opponent want to block low. 1A is slow as shit.

I'm using Ezio myself. I really like his low kicks, particularly his 11K. IMO they're solid enough. He made me forget about Raphael pretty quick xD
