Bad Habits When Defending Against Pressure/Rushdown

What're yours? I have a very bad habit of ducking all the time. I eat more mids than I should because for some reason my hands are more afraid of lows. Things like ducking in the middle of X's aK string are really aggravating because I just do it without thinking, and end up getting hit on something I shouldn't.

Aside from just experience, how do you guys handle pressure and breaking those habits? Do you look at it in character-specific situations or do you have something in your cards to get around it universally?

I have the same problem it seems not so much the ducking but trying to beat my opponents attacks even though I know whats coming and how to get around it... its just like reflex for some reason and its hard for me to break... taki and nightmare are the worst for me ( especially takis possesion K ) and its not good for my health to try and beat it everytime >.<

Lately I've gotten into the habit of trying to GI everything when pressure is applied. The problem is, I always either guess wrong or time my GI wrong, and I go down quick.

I have a bad habit of trying to counter attack too early

So I end up eating alot of shit I should be blocking

I've gotten better at stopping myself, but I think it's still an issue with my game. Especially as I lose more and more sets consecutively and get frustrated

i have the same horrible habits that you guys do. I dont block low enough, i try to CH way to early cause i believed that maxi's 6A is much faster than what it actually is! My worst habit i think is that i do to many 3B or 33B or 33A~B on a tech up opp that gets me punished more than it hits.

My habit is blocking and not knowing when to interrupt, than I get taken to the ground. Then it just becomes Soul I cant get up Calibur.

Actually I can get up, it just seems that Defense in this game is really an uphill battle for the defender. Step yields CH, pressing a button on ground gets you standing status before your character has even started getting up, and of course, the two characters I prefer to use are easily punished when blocked.

I'm usually the aggressive one, but whenever I am put into a defensive position, I usually end up crouching to prevent a low hit (I do this quite a lot against Mitsurugi players for the fear of 2KB, lol), then the low never comes, so I end up looking like a fool -_-

I start eating all these mids that I've seen so many times and now all of the sudden, all of these combos that I'm used to blocking are hitting me because the first hit will stun me while I'm still waiting on that low. I main Cassandra, damnit! I'm supposed to make people crouch for my low throws >.<

It's just a bad habit I've formed, cause my first instinct to try and break up an aggressor's pressure is to go for a quick 2K, but I end up finding myself crouched, which not only is a bad habit, but it leads into yet another bad habit I have when crouching. I have this horrible tendency to just push B when crouching, because for whatever reason, I'm thinking I'll just stand, then do BB instead, but I end up doing WSB, which gets me owned most of the time.

So many bad habits I have, lol. I just usually don't have to worry about these though, since I'm the one pressuring my opponent. I'll have to work on my defense a bit and ditch these habits at some point like a pack of Lucky Strikes.

I'm have the pretty much the same problems:

Blocking way too much
Crouching too much
Using slow moves that I know will never hit in time to stop my opponent's attacks

Predictable responding with quick interrupts into peoples GIs. I should continue blocking or throw something slower every once in a while, but I forget too often to stop poking in the heat of the moment.

I have a bad habit of having brain farts mid match, I completely forget the combos for the character I am using and sometimes try to duck mid attacks.

That happens to me, too. Not so much for Cassandra, but for Tira, who I don't use all that often.

I had a couple against you in the Astaroth matches, you did 66A,B. I blocked 66A but then i tried to duck the B everytime.I didn't even block them! I just crouched and ate that move every stinking time!

Bad Habits When Defending Against Pressure/Rus

Oh man so many =)

Still trying to GI throws...

Being lazy and fishing for CH 6B with Yoshi to escape pressure instead of using MCF or a:B+K.

Eating Asty's Bull Rush followups.

Eating Voldo's same damn lows, over and over, since SC 1. =(

Bad Habits When Defending Against Pressure/Rus

when people get to close i start to side step wildly this goes double for when im raph. when i am raph i just seem to freak out start side stepping even when i know i shouldn't

Bad Habits When Defending Against Pressure/Rus

I have a bad habit of admiring the pretty flames of unblockable moves, instead of trying to get out of the way.

Bad Habits When Defending Against Pressure/Rus

Trying to go for bA on counter (I think it is, Ninja Blade Rush anyway) as Yoshi, and failing most of the time. I gasm when it does hit though.
Blocking/crouching too much. Not too bad, but when your friend is playing as Mina, prepare to eat cold steel.
