What the fuck happened to the site.

Who's gonna save us?

Well, that's why we have 8wayrun. The technical limitations of caliburforum is the reason I go to this site more often. I'm hoping the rest of the community follows suit.
 
It looks like caliburforum is using Persistant Database Connections for their forums. This means that anytime data is being retrieved from the database, a connection entry is logged to the server, and this connection stays up for an indefinate amount of time.

Unfortunately, because of this, over the past few months, the number of database connections to the server have been growing and growing and growing... The number of connections the server can support is limited; once the connections are all consumed no one will be able to access the website until they get cleared...

Which will most likely happen when the server restarts... which could happen in 5 minutes, could happen in 5 months. Here are 8WR, I can restart the server anytime I want, but there is no admin at caliburforums, so right now the website is probably gone indefinately.
 
I just spoke with Neoshinji over AIM, he said they're going to contact Castel to see about getting CF.com back up. Apparently WCMaxi currently isn't in a situation where he's able to try to fix the site. I'm getting the impression we're gonna be going without CF.com for a lil bit.. hopefully not too long.

I confirmed that if the latter situation occurs where the site can't be updated, we'll have some time to get whatever info we need to off the site before it goes down. We're not gonna know what's going to happen until the CF admins have spoken with Castel though.
 
Well its good to see that the CF site is down at probably one of the most crucial times after a big major.

So yeah. Let's just be glad that we're still early in the games life and don't have an entire games worth of information stuck in there.

Though I still feel bad for anyone that wrote anything for the SAs there and didn't make a backup. D:
 
General rule for writing things like that should be always have a backup. D:

But some people don't really think about those things, so it's understandable. Jesus is forcing me to come here more. *goes to read Hilde info*
