I don't know why you can't see your own CAS chars, but maybe you can't see other people's because you haven't downloaded the Cepheus Compatibility Pack yet and these players are using new DLC items.
And just in case it might make a difference, are you playing on PS3 or Xbox? I've never seen this happen on PS3. Also, does this happen when you play Ranked/Player/Global?
Do you and your opponents have the Cepheus Compatibility Pack downloaded? (it's free) Besides that, only thing more I can think of is.... Did you install SC5 to the harddrive? I wonder if doing that on Xbox can cause problems... (or maybe NOT doing it results in problems for some reason)
I'm playing on PS3, I have it installed to the harddrive, and I do have the Cepheus Compatibility Pack downloaded. I have never not been able to see my opponent's CASs, and to my knowledge they have never not been able to see mine either.
My problems at least didn't have anything to do with the store or the patch, it happened before them. I am however on XBOX, and have installed the game to harddrive. I'd think I experinced a more general error th0ugh, since when I had the problem I could see no other players CaS, they couldn't see mine and they told me they saw the same thing when fighting others in player rooms and colloseum those nights.
I wanted to play you the other night but you were too busy being a "Chatty Cathy" lol!Check your preferences on the right-most tab in the menu. If you default people to muted, apparently that affects it. So I've read at least.
Sort of an update, I think the problem manifested again tonight. I was kinda drunk and can't really say what I did, but I'll just try to give an account of tonight's happenings and leave the conclusions open for someone else.
So I wanted to play some SC5 after having played some GoW3. I was signed in on a wireless controller and just started SC5 from the arcade stick, signing in to my normal profile when the game noticed the arcade stick had no attached profile. At this point I started to suspect problems since in the astral home I saw my rivals having the default SC5 player cards insted of the ones they usually have. Since I intended to play SC5 with one of my friends I proceeded to try to create a player room, and I then noticed I couldn't set a title for the room. I don't recall exactly what it said, but it was something like the current profile doesn't allow setting a title. At this point I didn't proceed with creating the room, but I suspect that had I done so no one in the room would have been able to see my CaS and I wouldn't have been able to see theirs. What I did instead was too open the XBOX home menu and fool around, this is a bit hazy but I think the only thing I did was change voice playback from being only headset to being both headset and speakers (after taking a cue from Wandrian). I also checked the options in SC5, but I think the only thing I managed to change there was my player card. What I did then was sign out from the home menu, the game detected that and kicked me to title screen, I started and signed in again and then I could see my rival's player cards. I then created a room and all CaS worked.
This is all a bit vague I realize, but hopefully someone could make some sense of it.

Is your account set to children's settings? So, I think I figured out what's wrong. I can only see my Xbox live friend's CAS characters. Does anyone know how to change it so that I can see everyone's CAS characters?
Is your account set to children's settings?
Thanks! I will check it as soon as I can.I believe it's under account management.
I'm not 100% on that.
