CAS Online Problems

My CAS characters won't show up online, and I was wondering if anyone knows why. I've already gone and changed my settings so that I people should be able to see them, but its not working. I also cant see other people's CAS characters. Thanks!

There seems to be a problem with CaS occuring from time to time. I've had it on 2 occasions, what happens is my CaS can't be seen by anyone, and I can't see anyone elses CaS, others I played then had the same problem. Other symptoms is that the rivals I have registered get their player cards in my astral home changed to the default one, it's also impossible to type anything in the chat windows in player matches. Does this sound like the problem you are experiencing? When it happened to me I had this problem all the time I played those nights, but it was allright the next day.

I don't know why you can't see your own CAS chars, but maybe you can't see other people's because you haven't downloaded the Cepheus Compatibility Pack yet and these players are using new DLC items.

And just in case it might make a difference, are you playing on PS3 or Xbox? I've never seen this happen on PS3. Also, does this happen when you play Ranked/Player/Global?

It's been happening before the new store options came out, and I am playing on an xbox 360. I can use and see my own CAS but other people can't see them, and I can't see theirs. This happens online no matter where I'm playing so all ofthose options you've had. As to the first reply, it isn't going away.

Do you and your opponents have the Cepheus Compatibility Pack downloaded? (it's free) Besides that, only thing more I can think of is.... Did you install SC5 to the harddrive? I wonder if doing that on Xbox can cause problems... (or maybe NOT doing it results in problems for some reason)

I'm playing on PS3, I have it installed to the harddrive, and I do have the Cepheus Compatibility Pack downloaded. I have never not been able to see my opponent's CASs, and to my knowledge they have never not been able to see mine either.

I don't think it has anything to do with the Cepheus Compatibility Pack because it happened even before I downloaded it. Also, I don't think installing it would cause a problem. Sigh....... Thanks for the suggestions though :D

My problems at least didn't have anything to do with the store or the patch, it happened before them. I am however on XBOX, and have installed the game to harddrive. I'd think I experinced a more general error th0ugh, since when I had the problem I could see no other players CaS, they couldn't see mine and they told me they saw the same thing when fighting others in player rooms and colloseum those nights.

Those are the exact problems I am having. Did you fix yours? and if you did, how?

I don't know that I did anything in particular. On both occasions the problem had disappeared the next day (for my friends I play with also). One time I remember shortly before quitting for the night I saw one of my rival's player card in the astral home returning to the regular one he set himself instead of the default one that was shown when there was a problem, and as i said the next day all worked again. I was and am mostly fighting players in Europe, on those occasions maybe it was a problem localized to Europe, since everyone I fought then seemed to share the same problem. Maybe region matters?

Check your preferences on the right-most tab in the menu. If you default people to muted, apparently that affects it. So I've read at least.

I wanted to play you the other night but you were too busy being a "Chatty Cathy" lol!

I just want to note on the CAS subject that it may be the censoring aspect of the game getting out of hand occasionally.

Sort of an update, I think the problem manifested again tonight. I was kinda drunk and can't really say what I did, but I'll just try to give an account of tonight's happenings and leave the conclusions open for someone else.
So I wanted to play some SC5 after having played some GoW3. I was signed in on a wireless controller and just started SC5 from the arcade stick, signing in to my normal profile when the game noticed the arcade stick had no attached profile. At this point I started to suspect problems since in the astral home I saw my rivals having the default SC5 player cards insted of the ones they usually have. Since I intended to play SC5 with one of my friends I proceeded to try to create a player room, and I then noticed I couldn't set a title for the room. I don't recall exactly what it said, but it was something like the current profile doesn't allow setting a title. At this point I didn't proceed with creating the room, but I suspect that had I done so no one in the room would have been able to see my CaS and I wouldn't have been able to see theirs. What I did instead was too open the XBOX home menu and fool around, this is a bit hazy but I think the only thing I did was change voice playback from being only headset to being both headset and speakers (after taking a cue from Wandrian). I also checked the options in SC5, but I think the only thing I managed to change there was my player card. What I did then was sign out from the home menu, the game detected that and kicked me to title screen, I started and signed in again and then I could see my rival's player cards. I then created a room and all CaS worked.
This is all a bit vague I realize, but hopefully someone could make some sense of it.

Thanks to you and Wandrian! I'll fool around with it later and get back to you guys. Thanks again!

So, I think I figured out what's wrong. I can only see my Xbox live friend's CAS characters. Does anyone know how to change it so that I can see everyone's CAS characters?
