SCV Director Daishi Odashima has recently tweeted for the first time in 3 months. His tweet was a re-tweet of an awesome SCV cosplay from an anime convention called Cartoomics 2013. Check it out:

Harada has also mentioned SC recently with his tweet about working on a game called "Soulcalibur Army of Darkness". Now a lot of people thought that Harada was trolling, but this next tweet of his caught my attention. Here he responds to a fan who complained about him giving people false hopes:

Katsuhiro Harada@Harada_TEKKEN
I said I don't like negative ppl. If you don't have hope, there is no hope. RT@Trace_afj don´t give us SoulCalibur fans fake hopes T__T it

We better keep a close eye on both Daishi and Harada for more SC related tweets in the future. Some of you may remember that the first confirmation of SCV was also from Harada's twitter, so it won't be a surprise if the next SC gets confirmed via twitter as well!

There was a rumor floating around about Soul Master for the next gen systems and a possible special edition of SCV for the Wii U.... but I pray that this isn't true. I refuse to buy the Wii U until the next Super Smash Bros comes out, but this wouldn't be the first time Bamco shoots itself in the foot with the Soul Series.... oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm certain the Soul Series isn't done, like all cash cows... no matter how small this one is (lol), we're going to see this on the next gen systems for sure.

I did a quick google search, and it seems this isn't the first time "army of darkness" has been mentioned in regards to Soulcalibur.

A quick search took me to Nightmare's wikia page, which says that there was a Soulcalibur manga comic from 1999. Apparently the army of darkness is mentioned in it:

In Soulcalibur Manga Comic, Volume 1 (Act.4), Nightmare begins his rise upon his army of darkness (armies of Lizardmen and Astaroth) during the darkness ritual.

I tried looking all over the net for these books, but it looks like a very rare item. I can't find it available for purchase anywhere, nor can I find a scanned online version or a translation. So there's no way of really knowing how credible the wikia page is in regards to the information about this comic. And even if we could verify this info, it probably still wouldn't be considered canon, but at least it's something.

All of the human male cosplayers except Maxi and Raph are low tier.

Damp's pretty gud too. Mostly don't like the Pats and Sieg

Siegfried........close enough.

Dat Dampeirre costume though....excellent.

Viola in action was pretty unique. Gotta give her props.

Am I the only hope that was totally waiting on Elysium? HAHAHA

I like how Raphael just completely owned Ezio. I was expecting that to go the other way around. Made me happy XD

Anyways, this could be exciting news. Not sure I'm ready to get my hopes up yet, but it would be awesome to have a SCV expansion or a SCVI around the corner here. You best not be trollin, Harada-san.

Tira, Leixia and Dampierre cosplays are great.

The best we can do now is to wait the hopes Harada-san is giving us are real.

I have been looking for the translated manga for over 2 years and haven't have luck. This is like trying to find the BlazBlue light novels translations.

I'm always worried that games like soul calibur legends actually leeches/canabilizes resources that could have been put towards super SC5 or SC6.

On a more optimistic note, namco should always plant a professional cosplayer just to drive up the overall quality of other SC5 cosplayers.

Let's wait and see what comes of this. Haruda wants us to "have faith" and what harm could come from it? After all, no matter how this game turns out, we've got nothing more to really lose.
