Defense minded characters?

Hey all.

I'm new to Soul Calibur, and would like to ask your opinions on character selection. I usually like to play turtle like characters with good block and whiff punishment and really enjoy working on my defense in practice mode - fuguring out counters and the like.

Which character/s would suit this best?

I was going to say Sophie too, she's the obvious choice. Look for characters with auto GI moves.

Maybe Azwell? Not sure about Geralt.

You have 46K or 46B lethal to punish whiffs
You have 22BB to launch or RO
You have 2 i10 poke to punish unsafes and break pressures
You have long range low pokes to provoke.
You have 4 different aGI/evades moves and lot of TC/TJ
You also have a pressure stance if you want to change

Not enough damage to keep up the defense maybe… and poor Oki and wakeup game.
