Wow, everyone is not liking Voldo... <xD *pats the little freakish guy*

I understand the Natsu comment. I mean, I like that she has some form of personality but she still is kind of annoying sometimes and I too, am still not a fan of her appearance. It's not that I liked Taki's big ass boobs, but her outfits while generic in the beginning, looked nice and gradually got better. She may have been a bit boring but I feel it's because she is a serious no nonsense character. I can say the same with Mitsurugi lol. But I still have some hope left for Natsu because she is fun to play with. Maybe she'll have a better design in the next game. :)

But seriously, she is just too animefied for my personal taste. I mean, could you really take Natsu as a ninja seriously? I can see it now...

Taki: Okay Natsu, for your next target, it's the element of stealth. I want you to sneak by those villagers without being detected. Now go!
Natsu: Pssht, is that all? This will be easy! *rolls eyes and climbs up on a tree and jumps from tree to tree...
Villager 1: *happens to be facing the tree* HEY! An orange squirrel! Let's get it! *takes bow and arrow and nails her in the forehead*
Natsu: GAH!! What the hell?! How did you see me?!
Villager 1: Do you have to ask?

Hair color makes that much of a difference?
 
Ivy and Taki where the most animefied FEMALE characters in the game. Trust me I watch all types of anime and have seen them in genres ranging from but not limited too normal Slice of Life anime to Over-The-Top Beat me up anime.

Ivy=Generic Smart Big Boobed Milf
Taki= Generic Female Super Warrior. Sometimes body guard to a princess or priestess.

If you watch Queens Blade or Sekei Rei they both basically make cameos lol.

I wasn't referring to her hair, I meant her outfit color scheme. It's just a joke really. I joke like that with Naruto too. And I'm pretty sure if Natsu was giving an assignment, she'd plan out for success.

I'm not denying that Ivy and Taki were not animefied. Hell, you can even throw Xianghua in the same group as the annoying loud mouthed high pitch voiced chick. lol

And I actually don't watch anime so much anymore. I kinda grew bored of some and the art style don't really appeal to me that much (especially the ultra "Kawaii" OMG cute animes) but I am very familiar with certain anime archetypes/cliches'.

And yeah, I'm just messing around. Natsu is like the Naruto of the game how I see it, so I just like to poke fun at her from time to time. I did the same thing with Naruto when I used to watch way back when.

Yeah, I can't really think of a cocky anime chick... Hmm... Well maybe Naruto's Temari? She was a bit cocky but she was very strong with that fan of hers.

then you haven't watched Toradora. there are at least 3 cocky chicks in that anime and i respect them all but one. i don't watch that "kawaii" stuff either. too mainstream. so i watch the good stuff that not everyone pays attention too. if you only let anime come to you then you aren't going to find a lot of anime but the same ones knocking at your front door. if you want to find the good stuff then you gotta go out there and look a little bit for it. Texhnolyze is one of my favorite anime by my favorite artist Yoshitoshi Abe and most people haven't even heard of it and if they did wouldn't watch it because it's too anti-kawaii and mainstream.

No I haven't heard of that one. And it's not so much that I hate anime that is mainstream, I just don't care for the style of art anymore. So if I'm watching a something and I don't like the style all that much, then I lose interest. It's just something weird with me. And my anime obsession days were back when I was in middle school to early high school. I guess the spark sort of faded away. Two mainstream animes I really did enjoy was Fullmetal Alchemist (both original and Brotherhood) & Death Note (For the concept). But that's pretty much it.

i normally watch anime for it's plot/ideas. not so much the art. watched Nichijou and the art was simple but what they did was hilarious because they didn't have to focus with details i think.
 
I think boycotting something strictly because it's mainstream is wrong. I think people should at least give something a solid try first. I still don't like slice of life anime but when I watch them with my boyfriend I find about 75% of them to be hilarious. However I will never watch one of my own accord because I lose interest fast.
 
Who said I was boycotting...? I'm not doing no such thing. I was just saying I lost interest in the style as a whole. It's probably because I am on DeviantArt and the anime style was and still is very popular there. Almost every artist on the site is doing it and after seeing the style for about 6 years now, it just sort of tired itself inside me. Which is one of the reasons why I'm trying to move my own personal art style away from it.There are still a few anime series I like though they are pretty old ones.

But just because anime doesn't appeal to me much anymore, doesn't mean I condemn and hate people who praise or love it.

I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about Vincent because it sounds like he/she thinks ALL mainstream anime is garbage and everything not mainstream are these Hidden Gems that people ignore. At least that's what I took from what he/she posted, when it's really comes down to each persons own individual taste. Too just write it off by how many people enjoy it is silly IMO.
