EARTHQUAKE!

ya kind of a wtf moment for me watching Angel on netflix
and shit starting shaking..North Carolina here btw

This is true considering this is exactly what happened at my place. I heard a loud rumbling sound first and then everything starting shaking a bit later.

And for the record, I did immediately move towards a door frame when the whole house started shaking. I suppose I'm not that stupid. Hahaha.
Actually, it's been tested that going into a door way doesn't really help. XDDDD
But I remember the last time we had an earthquake here in cali...I ran to protect my LCD 42 inch flat screen from falling to the ground. :P
Didn't get that protection plan!!!! Lol

But yeah...fuck earthquakes...I hate them... @___@
Welcome to my world. :P

Did you have it wall mounted? that's not really a good idea around here.

My first earthquake experience I felt like screaming at the TOP OF MY LUNGS but my lil sister was scared I had to stay strong for her. Im in Waldorf, MD. But think about it, how could a 5.9 Magnitude be felt as far north as Toronto, and far south as South Carolina? The earthquake shouldve been a higher Magnitude at the than it was. It was only 3-6 Miles deep. Maybe the geologic structure of the ground could of the Eastern Shore amplify the seismic waves but still this wasnt no regular earthquake. In Cali the waves of the quake as from what i've been informed, little to none leaves Cali. BUT, in theory and what I learned last year in 9th Grade science class the rocks mightve been moved and "elastically" reformed back making them stronger, therefore making the rocks underneath us more robust. So if another earthquake happens in the Eastern Shore I HIGHLY doubt it's gonna be felt all the way up in Toronto and as low as South Carolina. Im hoping my high school had a gas leak or something so we dont have to go to school on the 29th lmao. But thats my input.

I was sitting in front of my computer and stuff started shaking in the front of my house like my porch door(which shakes if there is a strong enough wind anyway) so i paid it no mind. Then i realized it didn't stop so i went to see if large trucks where rolling up and down my block. No trucks in sight but i still felt it. I guess my friend heard me close my front door and yelled thru the wall that we are having an earthquake and i kid you not i don't remember getting under my dining room table which is easily 25ft or more away from my porch.

I leave in PA btw.

Apparently some people felt it here in eastern KY. There was a courthouse a few counties away that had to evacuate 100 people or so. Some damaged walls and pillars on the outside. I didn't feel anything, though. Probably because I was sleeping all day.
