Eww its Voldo

Zalriel

[08] Mercenary
Was wondering if anyone out there had some decent tips on dealing with this disturbing fighter. I just can't ever seem to know when I should punish or run down or anything when it comes to him...all advice is greatly appreciated =D

My best advice is to close your eyes so that his deceptive movements and promiscuous style of dress does not distract or intimidate you.

After that, If you hear Hissing... Block, and be ready to break throws. If you don't hear hissing. Attack with mid horizontols!

CURSE THE MIDS!!! *hissss!* Mids defeat MC pretty well, among other things. Seriously though, going on the defensive means Voldo wins.

6:6B is punishable on Block, but you wont see too many voldo players use it unless its punishment.
1A is very obvious and 236B punishable if i'm not mistaken
236B on CH is negative on hit BB punish
The Ass is punishable, AA i think.

The running move where he pokes then kicks (I think 66A+B,K?) is a frame trap unless I'm mistaken, but you can 236 under the second hit to end behind with with frame advantage I believe. Duck right before doing it just in case he throws the second attack as thats mid (and if he does float the stab)

By the way Zalriel, I can't help but notice your signature plays off the same pun mine does. Good Job!

cool thanks a lot everyone
it basically seems that you really have to apply pressure to the freak and make sure that he doesn't get started with all his wiggly goodness. And if he does know where and when I can actually punish and not to just where it seems like I should.

and yeah 236 ftw Wewt!! lol

Sophie deals better with Voldo than almost every other character in the game. The key is to keep applying pressure on Voldo. Sophie's long range helps accomplish this especially against his evasive attacks. Just be sure to use a lot of BB, and when you think he's going to evade don't be afraid to throw out 236B.

you know that really quick unblockable dive attack move voldo has that is seemingly unstoppable/undodgeable? Try ducking it. Staying ducked down can help a little bit at mid-range so he doesn't jump and grab you out of nowhere. That's all I have to add to what's already been said.

Yeah I did notice that, another cool thing that seems to work is Sophie's double angel step (untested angel step) seems to go right under it when you time it right.

AS should go under too because it does TC (even though not all the attacks out of it do) the timing will just be trickier because you have only one motion to stay down for instead of the nearly two you can milk TAS for and it might not go low enough for him to pass over, making the attack active longer.

/edit/ He still flies over AS

Being a Voldo user all i can say it when your constantly applying pressure its tough because you keep me out of back side which is where most of his strengths are and I (probaly not every voldo) get stuck trying to get a quick hit on you to get away.

refrain from doing punishable moves like 236 A,A or 1 A,A an do 236 B only as a punisher. BB is better against voldo than u probably think too. hope this helps
