Just give the Swiss(and standardized Devil Jin CAS) a shot and let it be. It's practically a given that we're going to see the downsides of what ever format we use, so we may as well use a format that keeps all the participants getting more competition right? :)

This is pretty much saying "Just run the tournament how I want it to be run."
A poll is the best way to decide for something like this. If you have a tournament with rules that the majority don't want you're going to have a shitty turn out regardless.
