Game of Thrones Discussion Thread (Books and Show)

THIS THOUGH. It kind of reverses Jaime's entire "he's a nice guy really" development.
I understand trying to make Cersei more sympathetic in light of the polarizing events and actions ahead, I really do, but victimizing her and having the love of her life (who, with his faults, is still generally an alright guy compared to many of the people in the world of Westeros) rape her is unacceptable. Cersei very clearly did NOT want to have sex with him, she did not change her mind at all during the scene. She continuously said NO. If David and Dan have any respect for George’s work (or women at all, for that matter), they wouldn’t have pulled some shit like this. This is yet another example of how the media is perpetuating rape culture, misogyny, and objectification.

A possibility, though I don't think I'd like any mention of Stoneheart until the actual reveal scene, which I would hope would be the cliffhanger. I dunno, I think it'd be more impacting that way, plus Thoros was such a character, people will likely remember him quickly enough.
Saying that though, mentions of missing Freys would be wonderful.
I kind of like the idea of the body being dragged out of the river ~ep. 5 and then Arya keeps hearing about Freys disappearing and stuff. Especially around Riverrun.

Also when the fuck is the Blackfish gonna get some screentime???

cliffhanger
Nice touch lmao

Oh, I know, I meant saying they have a new leader, not specifically Stoneheart. But we'll see what they decide to do. I didn't see the episodes with Thoros, so I wouldn't know. And mentioning Freys missing would be great lol. I'm still bitter over how they try to spin the Red Wedding to make it seem like they're the good guys.

Personally, I'd like for them to keep the epilogue exactly as it is, but I'm not really sure how they could convey Merret Frey's thoughts and why he's going there. I guess they could just have him show up and be like, I brought the gold, where's *insert Frey*. It'll be great to see him hang.

Oooh I get ya. That would be pretty neat :P

I think they can try make the Freys sound as good as they want, they're universally hated by all regardless :P

This thread can't die. :(

Not sure how they're going to go with Stoneheart in the show. I'm still hoping for the Merret Frey scene in Ep 10. Brienne hasn't even gotten to those islands wheee the Hound is (he hasn't even 'died' yet). Rorge a Biter are dead, thanks to Arya and the Hound, so I'm not sure how Brienne will get captured by the BwB.

They brought forward AFFC's final chapter with Sansa. I wish it would have been a bit more faithful to the books but it was still a great scene. Lysa finally flew.

Off topic. Have you guys heard of the Jojen paste theory? It's so creepy but very likely at the same time. There's also supposedly a controversial Sansa chapter in TWOW. I find both theories to seem very plausable. Here are the links.

I feel like Stoneheart will be put off until the very last minute. My prediction is that Brienne will be "captured" in episode 8, absent in episode 9 since everything aside from the Wall will not have any scenes, and the last five or ten minutes of the episode will be dedicated to Stoneheart and the Brotherhood.

That was actually ASoS' last chapter before the epilogue, not AFFC, but not much else really happens with Sansa in AFFC either, so I doubt we'll see her much next season.

And the Jojen paste theory is basically canon in my mind, I love it. It makes total sense and it's so creepy omfg.

Yeah that's what I think they're going to do.... I hope they go with the Merret Frey one, though, because it shows Lady Stoneheart as the BA whose killing Freys every. It'll give them hope. And then in Season 5 have them hang Brienne early on and have her scream one word (GRRM confirmed it's 'Sword!'). That's what I'd like to see. One can hope.

Bleh, Brienne's timeline messed me up. That's what I meant, thanks. It's too bad they didn't go full Alayne and dye her hair brown. I wonder who the scapegoat will be since Marillion died awhile ago in King's Landing.

Yess. I wonder how Bran will react when he finds out he ate his bestfriend.

Well they keep mentioning the Freys in the episodes so they're clearly trying to keep them in people's minds. Take it as a sign if you will, I know I am.

Marillion died? I don't recall that. Lol at him. Not sure on Brienne though, but she's headed to the Vale so maybe Stoneheart is around there somehow? Looking for her sister or something? No idea.

I chose not to believe in JPaste, but mostly because if he is to die it has to be naked and importantly naked. This is purely because Thomas Brody Sangster.

Also, I thought the "Giant-slayer" prophecy was Sansa killing Baelish. I mean, it's clearly about her (Purple snakes in her hair = Poison hairnet) and the "Giant" would be Baelish because of the Titan connection, no?

Though seeing Stoneheart off LF would be GREAT.

I pray for it to happen, so I'll take that as a sign.

Yeah he was that singer who Joff cut off his tongue in court.

I think it'd be deliciously ironic if Sansa offed LF. It would be a great end to Lord Baelish.. or like you said, Stoneheart gets to him first. He did betray Ned after all. Sansa should be there too. Then Cat can be happy.

Sooo, the Defence of Castle Black happened. I was very saddened that Pyp and Grenn died... they made a lot of changes as to how everything went down but it's okay I guess.

I LOVED how they did Sansa. I think I like this change even better than in the books because it shows how Sansa has finally learned how to play the game. Plus Sophie Turner is really hot. Unless of course in TWOW Sansa does something even more badass. I'm so glad they finally dyed her hair. It was worth the wait.
Meh, didn't like how they changed the snowcastle part but whatever.

Poor Oberyn... they made his death more brutal than I ever imagined.

I absolutely am ecstatic for the season finale. So much will be going down. People will think that Ygritte's death and the Defence of Castle Black was the big major thing of Ep 9. Then, Tyrion escapes and kills Tywin and Shae. I feel like these last few episodes, especially Oberyn's, have made the show watchers feel like utter crap. When Tyrion kills and escapes, EVERYONE'S hope will be revived and they'll believe in the series again. And that the good guys can win. After that, Lady Stoneheart will appear and start hanging Freys and BOOM. Everyone is so ecstatic and in love with GoT. Even if you didn't like Cat, she's still hanging Freys, so it's all good.

Sorry about the necromancy; this thread needed to be revived. I had to sacrifice a lot of people in a lot of fires to R'hllor to make this happen lol.

I REALLY CAN'T EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS STREAMLINED SANSA OMFG
SHE'S SO SMART PEOPLE WILL FINALLY LEAVE HER ALONE I'M SO READY

I didn't really care for Jon's story after he leaves Ygritte nor did I like Tyrion after he kills Tywin and Shae, but next episode is going to be absolutely crazy. It's an extra like fifteen minutes longer, too, I think? I've been waiting for Stoneheart all season and if she isn't in the show exactly the same as in the books I will cut D&D's fun bits off and hang em round me neck, to quote Ygritte.

YES SANSA'S TRANSFORMATION WILL KEEP THE HATERS AWAY. SHE WAS SO AMAZING LIKE JUST LOOK AT HER

SHE JUST LOOKS SO GOOD AND THE WAY SHE SAID 'Shall we go?' TO PETYR WAS AMAZING. WHY ISN'T SHE MINE? Can't wait to see how they show her new self in the books.

It will be crazy. Stoneheart... I just can't wait. They better keep it exactly to the text, word for word. Just thinking about how mind blown everyone will be is so delicious.

SHE DON'T SPEAK BUT SHE REMEMBERS

YOU BLOODY BASTARDS CUT HER THROAT TOO DEEP FOR THAT.
Wondering if we can consider Sansa's new goth look as tiny Stoneheart foreshadowing. Stark's going dark and Winter is Coming.
Didn't think if it that way, but you just reminded me, that song they were playing when Sansa came down the steps is exactly what I was talking about when I said they should make one of the Stark songs really creepy. Not sure which one it was nut they nailed it. Here it is at 1:39 in case anyone missed it.

Personally I hated Sunday's episode. I really don't care for the Wall storyline whatsoever. It was well done, though, I have to give it that.

BUT Y'ALL STONEHEART IS BASICALLY CONFIRMED LOOK:

and this is probably the track that's going to be played during the reveal:

Stoneheart got to him before he could finish. :(

That song sounds amazing. But I'm a little afraid that they're skipping Merret Frey and going straight to hanging Brienne... I mean that song IS called Oathkeeper... actually, never mind. I just realized they haven't met Hyles Hunt yet. Well, they could've gotten rid of him too.. I really hope this isn't the case and that they stay true to the books this time because I'll be fairly disappointed if they skip Merret. It's supposed to give you hope that maybe Stoneheart will do great things and kill all those bloody bastards but then it takes a dark twist when she hangs Brienne.

Edit: lol or maybe that's not the song and I'm just going crazy.
