Hardest Character to master and win with.

I would say Tira and Sets are up there.

Tira because has an exclusive mechanic (mood changes) that takes a lot of experience to cope with and Sets because if you're not hitting those JFs then you're doing SIGNIFICANTLY less damage than you could be.

I mean, there are days where I can do JF Umbrella after A+K,B almost every time and then there are days where I can't even get REGULAR umbrella combos off consistenly. In general, the former are the days that I win A LOT and the latter are the days that I struggle to not break my conroller.

I'm going to have to go with Setsuka, which is specifically why I chose her. The way I figured it, if I could consistently pull off her hardest moves to do (1A;A:A, Silver Moon, and JF Umbrella), then she would be brutal. After several weeks of practice, I'm still having a terrible time pulling any of them off consistently in a fight. Even if I could consistently pull off the Silver Moon Fury every time I try it, it would probably make the difference in about half the rounds that I currently lose (which is a lot of rounds).

My next two characters I want to learn are Hilde and Ivy... again due to the steep learning curve and huge rewards.

To be honest, any character can be "hard" to win with and any character can be "easy" to win with. A lot of it depends on what you know, and what you think your enemy will do and how to punish accordingly. Id rate this game pretty darn easy to win (execution wise) with anyone (except the obvious low tier) because execution in this game is nothing compared to what it was from guilty gear.

I dont see how Hilde can be tough to learn at all? Maybe tough on a controller (compared to an arcade stick) but i mean her negative edging isn't that hard to get used to. Its just something different, regular practice will make something that once seemed hard pretty simple. It's not like it requires serious execution to player Hilde right. I mean if those who want to practice negative edging should go pick up guilty gear and learn to play eddie.

Yoshi because of all his stances for me. I've been trying to learn him for 2 weeks and all i have down are like 3 Unblockables.

setsuka, hands down. those jf are more precise than anyone i've tried with so far. i can get everyone's down pretty easy, sets owns me. if i cant do 1a right, then i fuck up umbrella the next. its horrible

AMY :p jk

seriously, Setsuka all the way. I was originally going to say ivy, then i realized, Ivy has alot of options in every stance and you can win by adding cheese especially if your up against a noob. Not so much with Setsuka, her JFs are a BITCH! Whenever i play her there is too much uncertainty that i think i'm doing a move/combo only to find out i botched the JF and I have EXPOSED THE WEAKPOINT and the opponent can deal MASSIVE DAMAGE.

Well i think Mitsu, Cerv, Night and Sieg are the easiest to learn and win with (hence they are beeing over played online) I don't see the fun in playing as one of those "overpowered" characters if i were to pick i new main (play as Taki atm) i woud most likely chose Setsuka since she is one of the hardest to learn i think atleast.
When you win against one of those easiy mode characters with a characters as Setsuka you can be sure that you are ALOT better then the one you are beating since your character is alot harder to play. If you ever played World of warcraft high rated 3vs3 it is kinda like a holy paladin wining over those highly spammed resto druids

For starters, WoW pvp shares very little, if any concepts applicable to a solid fighting game. I'm not knocking WoW, they're just different games.

Secondly, online play is a poor representation of how Soul Calibur plays out at a high level. Not only does the lag change how effective a given tactic is, the player base is largely unknowledgeable about many of the basic strategies present in the game, and thus fall for several "cheap" tactics, or even "button mashers." Many of which are easily beaten with some very simple, albeit poorly explained by Namco, basic system application. So judging these things online is a bad idea, overall.

seems spot on there, Ace :)

edit: penis is a tag for this topic? lol "character , hardest , master , penis , win"

I would agree with everyone on Sets and Ivy...

Sets have got JFs that are a bitch to pull off and Ivy have got 23974018743501874 moves to remember...

For Ivy, her individual move sets from each stances are easy to remember but really using them and switching stances really make her abit difficult to master skillfully.

Setsuka is a given.

I actually think Rock is up there on the hard to master/win list, not because he's trash but because to be effective with him you have to know all sorts of tech traps and character specific crap (off his 2B+G, for example). Definitely a char where you need to know exactly what you're doing and going for at all times to stand a chance against a decent player, especially one that breaks throws consistently.

Coincidentally, that's the numeric input for CS this time around too!

What? You guys didn't find this thread because of the keyword "penis"?
