Then give him/her a motive like love, revenge, money, glory etc. Then give him/her some random personality quirks to keep things interesting like grumpiness, clumsiness, charisma, tourette's, alzheimer's, whatever. Red Hawk was chief of the Green Cucumber tribe in southern Mexico. Despite his early onset of alzheimer's from all the peace pipes he smoked, the whole tribe worshipped him for his prowess on the battlefield, his ability to ceaselessly drink cactus beer, and his really bad-ass feathered headdress. One day while Red Hawk and his tribe were out hunting wild buffaloes, a regiment of malfested knights stampeded across the plains, killing animals, tribesmen, and each other indiscriminately. Though his people fought valiantly, by the end of the battle, Red Hawk stood alone atop a mountain of Green Cucumbers and malfested, too heartbroken to even shed a tear. As he stood, cursing his alzheimer's stricken hand for failing to protect his precious tribe, he resolved to purge the entire world of malfested and avenge his tribe. Guided by the trail of death and destruction, he set off towards Texas, where an azure knight leading an army of malfested awaits.
